Documentaries?

Hi everyone, Does anyone know of any insightful documentaries on alcohol and its effects on families, body, spirit, etc? I'm looking to watch one with my family that might give them (and me) a little more insight into abuse, or even just the basic effects of alcohol. Thanks.

I have all the literature and online resources I can handle, just looking for documentaries for now. Thanks!

I can't say I agree with all the information presented in this series, but you might find it useful:

There's many on u tube and in an online search. Some are accessible via Netflix. Try to search on the Discovery Channel website and other channels that show these things.

I know that a lot of people here don't like Intervention on A&E, or don't agree with its methodologies, but I think that's a really interesting show both for addicts and their families alike. It's sometimes a tough watch because it can be heartwrenching, but it seems to be consistent in showing the impact that active addiction has on the addict and their families in a documentary-style format.

Intervention on A&E is really good. It's a weekly documentary on addiction and its affects on the person and their loved ones. You can find old episodes on A&E's website.

But a real eye-opening documentary on alcoholism and how gripping it is, is this series you can catch on youtube called Rain in my Heart.
Be warned, its really raw and heart-breaking.

The HBO documentary mentioned above. I'm FFA and it was really important for me to watch this stuff, especially the medical understanding of the disease, when my RAH was struggling.

Right now I'm also watching "Following Sean", which is a documentary revisiting a kid who was witness to a lot of drug and alcohol abuse in the 60s thirty years later. Following Sean - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It's more about hippie culture than anything, and how our beliefs and behavior affect our children, but it's on Netflix now.
