I hear ya 4a.m. But ya know what? I have realized that I simply never learned HOW to have fun without alcohol. Heck..I didn't really know how to do anything without alcohol as a compliment to the experience. This is work...starting over....learning how to walk, talk, think, feel and function all over again really; that's how it feels to me. There were so many things I simply didn't learn cuz I've been party chick for 20 years. I've never learned patience, tolerance, endurance... hard work. I've always backed away from the hard stuff...dismissed it as unworthy or something...and had another drink. Unfortunately, there was a lot in life that came sort of easy to me... I've never learned self discipline either. I've been smart enough..and eager to please enough.. to bluff my thru things.
This is growing up...but this is cocoon time...it's dark and a struggle to grow those wings... we have to work it through... gotta be real.

ThAt's why there the fellowships. There's plenty of activities to get involve
in aside from just going to meetings. Yes we do have fun in recovery.
These activites are design to help us live and enjoy life without the
use of drugs or alcohol and it's alot easier to get use to having fun
in an enviorment of sober clean and sober people.
mmm...that's where some of the money gose to when you put it in
the basket. That's what those crazy an orginized service workers
do when they meet once a month..We decuss about how we can
serve fellow recoverying folks..planing softball games, bar B Q, caming
trips, dance and etc.
Just like anything else there's a learning curve. Just suit up and
show up and get involve and participate. Get out of yourself.
it's not that complicated.

Welcome back Taz! How was the catch?
This was my first time fishing/crabbing sober, man it was a blast, it was so nice to be able to see the joy in my kids eyes as they caught fish and crabs and were actually interested in what the old man had to say sober!

Hi aadchua
If none of this inspires you, here some more things:

I guess life is what you make it, huh?
Drinking was my only fun too, for 20 years - but I've learned to step outside my comfort zone and try new things.
Who knows? you might end up cycling 300 miles one day yourself...easier to motorbike it though, like Astro did
