Sounds nice phoebe....beautiful state from what I've heard. Well out the door to meet courage2 while family shops. I hope I've got the hang of this subway thing......

Hey gang, just left St. Patrick's cathedral. I lit a prayer candle and said a prayer of well being for each of you by name as I know it. :)

Hope your week is going well.

I do that, Mark, when I go to Church. I mention everyone's user name and picture their avatar in my mind. I wonder if God chuckles.

Thank you for remembering us in such a special way.

I am totally jealous, Mark!!! I have never met anyone from SR and courage2 is one of the many members I would love to meet.

Thanks for the prayers Mark and Leigh :)
Enjoy your lunch Mark :)

Thank you from me too Mark! ♥
That's really lovely.
And you too Leigh! It's really funny to me though that people who know my name call me Venus in PMs... :)

Your beautiful cat has a really similar face to mine Briar. Bet she's a very smart and sassy cat! :)

Ok. Just got another shift. No rest for the wicked.
Love to all of you. ♥

SoberLeigh 07-15-2015 05:41 PM

Have a good shift, venuscat.

Well your ears may be burning Leigh because we were just talking about you. She asked what class I'm in and who's in it. I told her you're an honorary member and she said what a lovely presence you are for SR. I agree completely. :)

Mark, thank you; what a truly lovely thing to say.

Please give our love to courage Mark!!!! :) ♥♥

It was the first aa meeting I've ever attended. I just listened to get an idea of how things go. About the time I was getting my nerve up to open my mouth a bit the meeting ended. For me, this was more about getting out of my shell a bit and meeting one of the many members here that I enjoy. It was so nice to chat a bit with her. It's so odd to talk about folks we 'know' in common with someone I just met in a city I've never been. I really appreciate her reaching out like that.
I noticed on the subway just then an ad for an alcohol delivery service that promises quick delivery because "your glass should always be half full".

Tired out....hoping for another early run tomorrow so bedtime coming up.

How awesome you got to meet up with Courage, Mark! Isn't the internet amazing? Such support from people we would never otherwise meet. Not this forum, but, on another connected to a medical support group, I have at least 4 close friends I have met in person. I talk to two of them daily. I will see a 3rd next week in NY, and had lunch with the 4th last week! I do also have a special friend from here, from my old September group. We talk pretty much daily. Amazing friendship. I know someday we will meet, but she is far away.

Thanks for the prayers Mark. That was very thoughtful.

Hello people I love, and goodnight.
Hope you all have a good day. ♥

How are you feeling, Briar?

BrighterDayz 07-16-2015 04:30 PM

No real vacation plans here-timing was not right. I am going to visit DD next weekend in RI. Booked a room with adjoining bath in a private home through airbnb. I have never done that before. It's much more personal than staying in a hotel-I am only there for one night. It should be a lot of fun and hopefully I can take some stuff back with me to make things easier two weeks later. I do have a week off in August-hope to get at least one day trip to the beach in there.

Mark1014 07-16-2015 07:26 PM

What beach do you like BD? I guess August is a great beach time up here.

Hi Leigh - I'm okay, thanks.

Briar 07-16-2015 10:11 PM

No vacation plans here either, but hopefully some day trips to the beach and overnights in San Francisco. We always stay the night at my favorite hotel in Japantown. Maybe one of these days I'll actually go to Japan. That would be awesome. My husband refuses to go, though. He is 6'6" and wouldn't fit anywhere. :)

BrighterDayz 07-17-2015 03:48 AM

Briar, the vision of little bitty you and your giant husband walking down the street holding hands made me smile. My husband is 6'3", DD is 5' 10" towers over 5' 5" me.

Arbor 07-17-2015 05:36 AM

Vacation? What's that?! Haven't had a proper one in over four years. That's just the way it is when you have little ones.

Its amazing how the weather patterns affect my well being. All week it's been super humid uncomfortable rain foresty type conditions. Today: Picture perfect. And I feel good. For no real reason. Sleep is terrible. Work is well, work. Most of the week I've been struggling, exhausted, and body sore. But not today. Weather. An A+ day.

On another note things have shifted in my mind since having the baby. Not sure where this will take me on my sober journey. We're in survival mode over here. Whatever needs to be done just do it to get through it. I'm sure anyone with children can relate. Have a great day everyone.
