Thank you all for your words of support and your prayers. I am heading home shortly, as I am due back at work Thursday. My mom is feeling a little better in herself but it's easy to see how stressed she gets... FBL, I think you have it on the nose, I believe the cough is stress related. Unfortunately, my father, sick or well is a high stress person to live with. She loves him and worries about his health, but she is also not so tolerant of him as she used to be. The problem is that their habits and behaviour patterns are now so ingrained, there is not likely to be any change now. I am glad to be heading home, My moms spirits have lifted with me being here, but if I'm here any longer I will end up adding to her stress. I wish I could give her a real break, but she wouldn't leave my dad now, regardless of what cover we could arrange. |

Hang in there, Toots! Many of us are dealing with aging parents and can relate. Thanks again for the B-day wishes yesterday. My cold is pretty well gone. However, I was coughing so hard, that my pleurisy is acting up. Oh well, this too shall pass. Have a Terrific and/or Tolerable Tuesday, overs! |

Good morning Overs! Welcome back to the work week for some of you. Warmish and rainy in my neck of the woods. Perfect day for running errands all day, lol! Take a moment and appreciate the people in our lives whom have made such a difference for us. Parents, friends, coworkers, my SR family, and realize just how lucky we are to not only have escaped booze, but still have meaningful relationships with others still intact after the rocky journeys we have endured. Life sometimes is too short. It is never too early to be gracious to those that care about us. Have a great day all! |
