Well my quit date was July 25th 2006 and I am still clean so I hope it can stay like this. Things are kinda rocky in my marriage and it is kind of hard not having something to take the emotions away. Something to numb me and make me forget my problems I guess. Good luck and that's great to all the people that are on here. At least now I know I am not alone!! |

Hey gang!! I'm not quitting either. Really have put myself through it the last couple of days. My best friend for 17 years called on Monday. We hadn't spoken in a year and a half or more. Had to suck it up and make my amends. Very humbling, and very FREEING. When I told her about the wrongs I had commited against her, she said, "That's just evil." I had to admit, "Yes it was. I am very ashamed and sorry for the way I treated you." My first thought when she said that, was to make excuses. Which would have just been justifications for drinking and for my bad behavior. So instead, I actually did the right thing and accepted my part in it. That's the way it works. I'm very grateful to now have that ability. You play, you pay!! ((Bob123)) When I quit drinking the first time on my own, I took up gambling. Not a good idea. I lost a few grand and I have really watched myself since. If it's not good for me, I seem to be addicted to it!! hehe I even have to watch myself when I go shopping. I'll blow all the money on stuff I think I need or want. It takes time to pay back the debts. But by staying sober and doing the next right thing, it does get easier. Stick with the programs, they will show you the way!! And no you don't have to start your days over. This is for mind altering substances that we put into our body. Just admit you have another problem and continue to work on you!! dAY 18- STILL SOBER AND NOT QUITTING today, I have put too much into it and feeling much better without alcohol, there are places trying to ban cigarettes, they should do the same with alcohol! |
