I feel so so stupid being back here at yet another day one. I had 100+ days bulimia-free but slipped in February. I joined that class and then April's and now May :headbange

I know I want it and I know how to do it, but my motivation seems so weak sometimes. I know I do better when I'm in a class and posting, so this month I'll make a special effort to post every day (here and in the Gratitude threads). I'm going to journal as well.

This time I'll crack it. We May flowers are ready to BLOOM!!!

Actually, I don't mean 'stupid' I mean frustrated. The only really stupid thing to do is to give up trying. And I'm not doing that, and nor is anyone else here :grouphug:

This! :) ❤️

One of the hardest parts of all of this, is the emotional damage.
While we cant get off the rollercoaster, we suffer so much and end up hating ourselves.
And that isn't a good way to feel ever, let alone when we are trying to get sober.

I like to think of it this way ~ getting sober is a loving and kind thing to do for yourself.
A wonderful thing to do for yourself in fact. :) ❤️

Hi letsdance, welcome!

Hi erratic, phoebe64, phebe, and everyone!

Plan for today, going to have my coffee while looking at the wildlife refuge out my future in-laws window, take a jog, lift some weights, put a treatment on my hair for a few hours, and get ready for formal pics with future in-laws (at age 88 and 92- they can’t travel to our wedding ceremony), then going to eat dinner with them.

I will not drink today. Felt way to good this morning as I awoke, with no nauseated feeling, no wondering what I did or said or texted. I awoke with hope, determination, and perseverance.

I wish the same for my mates here.

What are your plans to take care of yourself today?

venuscat 05-02-2021 06:39 AM

Well Congratulations dear Free!!!!! :) :)
And your day sounds lovely. :) ❤️

How are you Macaroni1234? becky7?

Devizes, welcome back. Agree totally, it is unwise for us to stop trying....Never give up on that little voice called your soul, which is screaming to be heard, to be saved, which we drown out most of the time with self deprecating behavior.

Good morning all. Looks like a nice day here. Warm and sunny so far. Once again, I’m first up, and hanging with the dog, and having coffee. I’d like to run to the store before it’s busy, but the dog is very distraught by someone shooting a gun nearby. Poor thing. It’s very frustrating and sad, and apparently legal.

So, I’ll wait until hubs gets up, and go to the store. Son starts back to full time in person high school tomorrow! I need lunch food for him.

Devizes, good for you for not giving up and coming back with strong intention.

Free2be, that sounds like a really nice day. I hope your photos turn out well.

Phoebe, you are being a great dog-mom. I'm glad that your son will be getting back to school.

3.8 mike run (jog actually) completed, some stretching done, light arm weights. Conditioner soaking in hair, now to retrieve that necklace I left at my daughters.

Thanks Anna, me too!

I’m looking forward to getting some brain cells back so I can keep track of things better......onward!!!

Jo43 05-02-2021 09:37 AM

such a fab idea Venus as I love walking!!

Anna 05-02-2021 12:43 PM

Jo, I'm with Venus. I started walking when I stopped drinking and I have never stopped. The benefits are physical, mental and spiritual. And, with luck, it's something you can do for most of your life. :)

Erratic, joining the gym sounds like a solid plan.

Free2bme888 05-02-2021 04:08 PM

Walking is GREAT! Less stress on the joints. My in-laws, almost 89 and almost 93, walk a mile every day, in about 20 minutes. They are sharp as a tack and live independently. Quite the inspiration ❤️

Free2bme888 05-02-2021 04:19 PM

Made it today to 6:18 pm, just a few more sober hours to a guilt free sleep, and I’m there!

phoebe64 05-02-2021 04:33 PM

I love walking too. It’s a very good way to gently increase your fitness. You can choose your speed, distance, and intensity. Also, when I worked as a PT, a signature phrase was, “Little bits, often.” Anything you might do to increase mobility, strength, or even work out an injury, is best done frequently, but gently. That’s just a general recommendation, of course. It’s not good to go hard and fast, especially if out of shape.

Sadly, I’m having a hip issue that’s making walking hard. I’m trying to deal with it, because I know how to. But, I might need to go see an orthopedic or rheumatology dr.
