Thanks Dee :)

Nice to hear from you Bumble. I’m glad the vacations are getting better the longer you’re sober. It gives me hope for my own future holidays. We’re staying close to home at the moment but hopefully next year we’ll get away on holidays.

I’m trying to get out for a walk every day, but my ankles won’t stand running, too many injuries. But I really enjoy walking anyway :) I only went for about 15 minutes today, but I’ve set myself a goal to get out every day for at least 10 minutes, even on really busy days. Any more than 10 minutes is a bonus. Just getting some consistency will help get me back on track with exercise :)

Well done Willow! :)
Hi Bumble, Dee, all.
Day 2 for me and I have a determination that hasn't been there previously
and Campral too, which will hopefully make a difference.

Willow00 08-09-2020 03:34 PM

Hi John :wavey:
I was hoping you’d come back :)
Day 2 is great!
I also seem to have more determination this time. I really don’t ever want to drink again.
Let’s keep the determination flowing!

Hi!

John - so nice to hear from ya! I am not familiar with Campral, I am hopeful with the determination and medicine you will have success. I also depended on a medication specific for alcohol abuse, and I do feel it was tremendously helpful.

Willow - that is fantastic that you are getting out an walking consistently. I have the same mentality as you - 10-15 mins is all you need. Something is better then nothing... right? I used to (pre- children) run miles and miles daily. But now, I'm happy when I get a 20 min run in. I also have been trying to add some other activities like stretching, core and strength work. We have monkey bars and a pull up bar in the back yard, I would love to be able to do a pull up, just 1.

Eating is still an ongoing issue for me. In all, I have gained about 25 pounds becoming sober. My weight has been steady over the last year, I seem to be stuck at 135 pounds. My body seems to be happy there, but personally.... I am not. It is a work in progress.

I have been doing a lot of thinking about the past, present and future. I am trying to be more present in the moment. Especially with the girls Not worry about the future. I am not stuck in the past though, surprisingly.

Have a fantastic day everyone reading this.

Hi Free, great to see you here. Let's do this!

Willow00 08-10-2020 04:38 PM

Hi Free! Sooooo good to see you back! :) :) :)

I’m on 7 weeks today. After so many relapses, I’m hoping this is it!

It doesn’t matter how many times we’ve fallen, we can get up, dust ourselves off, make a start, and make ourselves a sober life ❤️

Willow00 08-10-2020 04:39 PM

I can’t see the pics Free :(

How are you today John?

Hi Bumble! :wavey:
