Good morning Overs, whether the wee hours or daytime. 2:30 am here, and cooold. Thankfully no rain so the roads won't turn into skating rink. Folks in the deep south have a lot of 4WD trucks and while they can get unstuck better, they forget that all cars and trucks have four wheel braking. 4WD is no advantage. So icy or snowy roads make for a lot of fender benders here. I feel deeply for those dead and devastated by the multiple California fires. The videos people took as they drove through the fire to escape shows why others did not. The town was named Paradise: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...p-fire-n936466 http://www.threadbombing.com/data/me..._1059608_n.jpg |
Good morning, Overs. Have a lovely day no matter what the weather :-) |
Itchy, I had no idea that the utility company was to blame for the fire starting. I kept hearing it was someone's campfire that got out of control. We are getting our first snow/ice day today. Usually don't get this weather until next month, but with climate change, nothing is like it used to be. I truly miss the spring and fall seasons. We just seem to lurch from heat and humidity to cold and windy. I used to enjoy opening all the windows in the house for a good month or so in between cooling and heating season. We only had a couple of days of open windows this fall. I know it could be worse, as the folks in California and Florida have found out. Make the most of the day all! |
Hiya overs Have a good Friday my friends. :grouphug: |
Good morning Overs. Have a good day everyone. |
It's a good day for me! Today I celebrate five years sober! |
Hi all, have a good Friday. Andy how are the kids doing? Itchy we had a couple viewing the house from Sacramento, they're looking to retire to Scotland and said although they hadn't fires close to them yet, all of California seemed to be burning. |
Many congrats Gilmer on five amazing years! |
More congratulations Kathy, your awesomeness becomes you ❤️xx |
Congrats, Kathy! 5 years is HUGE!!!!! We got another inch of snow last night. Seems like fall was extra short this year. Have a Fantastic Friday, overs! |
Congrats, Kathy. Five years is awesome! SG, I agree on the weather changes. Even here in Maine the summers are too hot and there was too little of those gorgeous fall days. Sad! Have a good POETS Day! |
Yay, POETS day. I saw a saying today that said, ‘The trouble with retirement is that you never get a day off.’ :lmao Have a good weekend my friends, and keep safe from any icy weather, if you’ve got it.......or sunburn! :grouphug: |
Goodnight Overs |
Nite wolfie love. :) |
Gil! Five years is SomeAwe! Woo Hoo! Glad your day was good. Star, I didn't know the cause of the Camp Fireeither! They just raised the death toll to 71 and the missing well over 1000! I have brothers and some nieces and nephews around San Diego and one in Santa Barbara. Fingers crossed. Toots, At least one more major fire started in the last day or so. Colorado is hazed with smoke from the California, they're that bad. Your prospective buyers are like us, but we chose Colorado because no other first world country is eager for old seniors as new citizens unless they have a lot to invest. We're leaving the heat and humidity for four seasons and dry summers. FBL, I see you are back to reminding us of losses in music. I'm not much of a country fan but like some like Garth and some others. But Roy Clark was a guitarists guitarist. I'm glad to have heard him and gotten joy from his stylings and self deprecating humor. For the Queen fans, the social media rhapsody! We're getting excited as we get closer to moving. |
Good morning Overs. Congratulations Gilmer :c011: The social media rhapsody is very funny. Have a good day everyone. |
Morning overs, Have a good weekend.:grouphug: |
tired- lots of recasting, migraine, meeting- all okay- depression hit today, but I will not my life be dictated by it, just takes more effort to get stuff done. |
We've got another dusting of snow here this morning. Just enough to cover the grass. Roy Clark was always one of my favorites. Some of my fondest childhood memories are watching Hee-Haw with my grandparents. Roy was a master of many stringed instruments, not just the guitar. He had a place down in Florida and my Aunt met him once and said he was very friendly and down-to-earth in real life. Here's a great clip from the old Jimmy Dean show that really highlights Roy's talents: |
