One Year & Over Part 64 |
Andy, my sincere condolences to your family. Same for you, Wolfie. This is one of my favorites: Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me. I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all. I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play. Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the close of the day. If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy. A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah yes, these things I too will miss. Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow. My Life's been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch, Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief. Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free. |
Thanks Dee, Fbl, nice poem |
Sending more love to our dear Andy and wolfie. s Holding you in my heart Andy..... ♥♥ |
I'll second that Suze. |
I can hear fireworks going off. Unsure whether it’s for Halloween or an early guy fawkes night, which is on the 5th. :dunno: |
I third all said. |
Hello Overs :wavey: Have a good weekend! |
A very belated POETS Day check in. Lots of :grouphug: to Andy (plus twigs) and Wolfie. |
Y'all have a good weekend. |
You too itch :) D |
Thanks guys & good morning x |
Hi overs  Have a good weekend from me too.:grouphug: This is a short poem I read many years ago, but has always stayed with me. ‘I looked at a robin, watching it feed, And thought to myself, how different indeed Are we to this robin, for I have to concede, Man takes what he wants, bird takes what he needs.’ |
Hi all, How are you after your fall Sass? Hugs to you Wolfie my friend And also to you and the little Terrifics, Andy. FBL, hope your mom is okay too after her fall. Take care of yourselves and each other, this week has shown us yet again we need to treasure those we love, hold them close and tell them that they matter. Life is too short. |
Wolf, It's goodnight for me. Mags, Thanks for the poem! |
Good morning Overs. I slept through the night, the first time in weeks, the healing begins. I went to see the funeral director yesterday. From an earlier phone conversation I only remembered his name as Sam. When I saw him I thought I recognised him and then he asked if I had children who went to our local school. It turned out that he was an ex-maths teacher who taught our children and had met Mrs T at parents evenings. Football this morning for DD. Have a good day everyone. |
enjoy the game Andy :) D |
Andy, continued support. Mom is doing fine. She's looking forward to my Thanksgiving visit in a few weeks, as am I. Heading to another card show this morning. I'm working on several different sets now, so am sure to find something! Have a great weekend, overs! |
SUPPORT, Andy |
I’m glad you struck up a rapport with the funeral director, Andy. Funeral directors are immensely helpful. I hope yours does very well by you. I hope DD has a good game. |
Andy, a big  to carry with you. Good that the funeral director has met Mrs T and your children. Wolfie, a  for you, too. Hi PJ :wavey: I may not say much (hah!) but I read all of your posts in the threads I watch and am so fortunate to know you. FBL, good that you can visit your mom on special occasions. She is very fortunate. Hi Itchy :wavey: how goes the move planning? Toots, I am doing ok. Still sore arms and knee but gradual improvement. My knee is a gorgeous (or hideous, depending on viewpoint) purple color. At least I am not ready for the walker club just yet. Mags, l really like that poem! Hi Dee, CK, Suze, SG and all of the Overs :grouphug: Every day that I don’t drink is a beautiful day :scoregood |
Glad you are healing dearest Sass  And so relieved that your mum is OK FBL. And so glad you were able to sleep dear Andy. ♥ What a wonderful blessing to have that connection with the funeral director, so special that he was able to meet Mrs T and know her magic just a little. toots is right (:) of course)....and I hope you all know how much you mean to me. And not just in cyberspace....I would love to meet all of you and spend time with you. Meanwhile, I am incredibly grateful for our friendship. And we rock, but that goes without saying..... ;) :grouphug: |
Andy, my husband’s friend is an undertaker, always wanted to be one when at school, and after leaving school he followed his vocation. His son has also followed in his footsteps, but what I find wonderful is the respect and dignity they give to all who have passed , treating each person with the upmost care. :grouphug: |
And they are such kind, professional, smooth experts with the million and one logistical phonecalls that have to be made. |
I agree wholeheartedly |
Andy, You will of course have a million decisions to make, and life with your girls goes on. We are all standing by you in spirit. Andy you haven't talked much about your extended family. Have you got family close by you can count on? I hope so. Like AA, sometimes face to face is needed too. Sassy! Wow! Sorry you are still sore! Glad you are on the mend. The move is getting there, thanks for asking. Some boxes are packed and really all we have to do is buy the house and move all but our mowers as we are downsizing the 5 acres of yard to a little 1/4 acre lot most of which is covered by house and drive and patio. Most of the ones we like have landscaped front yards with little to no maintenance. I can do all the mowing with a self-propelled push mower and a string trimmer maybe two. Here is a fleet of tractors and mowers and trimmer with attachments for everything, and all the manual tools and three lawn carts. I will be glad to sell them all and downsize to just the self propelled push mower one yard cart, and two string trimmers. Click on this link to see what I mean by maintenance free to little: Toots I missed your last post and thanks for the reminder. FBL, are these all different shows or the same vendors same shows? Dinner's ready, TTYL. :grouphug: :You_Rock_ |
Morning overs, Andy, sending more support and love for you and your girls.:grouphug: Take care and love to all the overs:grouphug: |
