HAHAHAHA. NO!!!!!! I'll be hanging onto my practical CR-V for that. |
I went to be early last night and woke up at 8 am. I've been busy since then, cutting down the long grass and weeds on the side of the house and trimming the bushes in the dog yard. I love being sober and having energy to do things. :) |

Gorgeous photos, Free; your hikes exhilarating; even in viewing photos, I get a sense of the intoxicating beauty of nature; the lovely flowers that grow so full of hope and promise between the rocks are mind-boggling. Nature is tenacious, exactly as we need to be in our daily sobriety commitment to and practices. Your photos bring back great memories of walking trails such as those with the kids when they were teenagers. I always brought up the rear :lamo Marty, congrats again on your new car. Your mention of a Triumph brought back a memory. A friend and I had just completed a challenging college semester; we had spent seemingly unending hours with our noses in law books and had just taken our finals. Suddenly, we realized that Christmas was looming (only days away) and neither of us had done any shopping at all. We did all of our shopping that afternoon and packed it all in her tiny Triumph. Passers by in the parking lot if the Mall were laughing at us as we tried various ways to get everything situated and the doors closed. CBS, baby steps in weaning from Gabapentin is probably the way to go; a friend of mine needed to cut the pills into halves and then quarters and then increase the space between doses by an hour a day - (24 hours between doses; 25 hours between doses; 26 hours between doses, etc.). and ❤️ to all. |
Evening Weekenders. So sad to read of your fellow rehab patient Reid. That is tragic Triumphs and MG's were ubiquitous when I was young. My mum had a white Triumph Spitfire. |
I had an mgb gt and then an mgb midget soft top in my younger days, well they were ex husbands but I drove them. :). I think I’d struggle to get in one nowadays. :) Leigh, sounds like a fun shopping trip. |

I didn't know you had been married before Mags. When I was young I had a bright red Ford Capri. I loved it. Thing is I couldn't drive, I bought it with the intention of learning so in the mean time let my boyfriend, soon to be husband drive it. I never actually learn't till we separated and by then the car had gone. |
Friday….Yeah like the 1995 movie, I couldn’t wait to get off work that day and hit the liquor store and stock up on a few cases of beer for the long weekend…..The college games on saturday, the pro games on sunday…But on friday nights the celebration of the weekend usually began with drunkenness and revelry. :headbang: Often to the tune of passing out and waking up in the front yard on saturday morning not knowing what happened or how I ended up there 😲😲😲 Today…8 months and some change sober I look forward to much more pleasant days and nights, with an even better monday morning. :scoregood Thank goodness, I don’t wanna be that way anymore. Have a great 3-day sober weekend everybody 😇 :c043: |
Thanks for your support guys :) I didn’t drink yesterday and I think that was the biggest hurdle of the weekend for me, but I will remain vigilant! I talked to my friend about drinking/not drinking, but I’m going to talk more about it today. She has some health concerns that I suspect are quite likely alcohol related. She hasn’t seen a doctor, but really needs to see one. So I’m going to gently try and persuade her to see a doctor while she’s here. I don’t know that she can get back home for a while because of Covid lockdown restrictions. Perhaps something good will come from her visit. I will help her if I can, but will have to be careful not to put my own sobriety in jeopardy. |
And….. today is day 111 sober for me! A winning number methinks :) |
I am also on day 111 Willow! - it seems an auspicious number and I like that I have arrived at it! There was a momentary twitch of jealousy while my husband went and bought a beer for himself this evening - rather amazingly he appears to be able to drink one beer and be happy - in a way that doesn't bother me so much as who on earth would want ONE beer! Happy sober weekend to all whatever number you are celebrating! |
congrats Willow and DustyFox :) D |
Congrats to both of you from me too! ❤️❤️ |
I think so too Dustyfox :) thanks Suze and Dee :) |

Willow and dusty fox - how cool - both of you with 111 days. Congrats. :nyy |
Congratulations Willow and DustyFox on 111 days each! :You_Rock_:You_Rock_ Intro, you’re doing good. Congratulations on 8 months + :You_Rock_ Kaily, a bright red Capri. Nice. First marriage failed after 7 years. (It could’ve been me, I was a bit crazy in those days) :) Doing a bit better with Mr. Mags at 28 years next month. Gosh I dint feel old enoug( to have been married that long! I’m up with my hand again. Physio was good but pretty hard. It will all come to pass, I’m sure. |
Willow, congrats on 111, and maybe your friend will learn from your example. Dustyfox, congrats on 111. My wife rarely does, but can drink a single apple cider or whatever. I could never do that, not even in the very beginning at 17 or 18. Intro, congrats on 8 months, and to us both for now being able to watch football without drinking beer. |
