Back to Ye Olde Homestead, and chillin' outside with Da Pooch. ~2.5 hours drive time Home, and ~120 Miles. A nice, convenient change of Scenery.

SOOOOO, I noticed the Trailer Fridge Door was not closed just before we launched this morning from the Reservoir Campsite. I closed it, having got used to doing these Pre-Flight Checks after Da Wife stocks the Fridge. Turns out a Ginger Beer was not in the Door, but had been put on a Shelf. As I found out when trying to put some Groceries in the Fridge ~1/2 hour from here. The Bottle then fell, and smashed to pieces the Tempered Glass Veg Drawer top. After a moment of Drinking-style fuming, I realized The Powers In The Universe were telling me to replace that likely-expensive, Custom piece of Glass with Plexiglass. I shall. Tempered Glass cannot be cut. It has to be ordered to exact size. Pricey...

Although we've been working on our Trailer backing Hand Signals in tandem, my Stoner Co-Camper 'forgot' them. She backed me into the Arts & Crafts-style, pointed Roof Trusses that the House Gutters sit in. The Metal Ladder up to the Trailer Roof creased a bit, so I'll 'design' some Signaling method that makes that same error impossible in the future. Not a grand day here in Stoner Ville, but nuffin' to drink over. Well, for me anyway...

She's not immune to her Hippocampus being 'erased over' from Using. Perhaps we'll have a chat about that some day. Not today. In the scheme of things that some Folks deal with here, this was mild stuff.

'Shooter's Cafe' - where the Servers pack Glock 9 mm Pistols - was in the appropriately-named Rifle CO. If you're not feeling old yet, this Parade Pic yesterday of the 2019 Freshman Class Homecoming Queen & King in a classic Ford Car should do the trick.

'Auto Tune' is this Software-based Tool for changing Pitch on Recording Studio Tracks. Bringing up 'flat' Singers to Pitch is one prime use. Many of the current Divas have Recording Budgets that include 'x' hours of Post-Production Auto Tune work because it's cheaper than doing multiple Song Takes with marginally-talented Vocalists [of either Gender].

As the story goes, an Engineer was fooling around with running Vocals through Auto Tune; designed for use with Instruments. This Cher Song was the first to use Auto Tune; intentionally over-used. It's what makes her Voice sound like it 'steps' to the next Note. Her Voice was run through an Auto Tune PC Keyboard, and this accidental discovery has become Sound Engineering Legend. For Bynne, and other Sober Youngstas here...-)

Da Wife saw Cher's Show in Lost Wages NV. >$200- Seats. Cher changed Costumes something like 18 times. I presume a lot of Velcro is used. As the Crowd Demographic attested, she is a fav of Cross Dressers. Right up there with other Creative 'pushers of the Envelope' we admire, like Bette Midler, and Cyndi Lauper.

Haha. Maybe not every one, but a few for sure. That made me laugh.

Experiment here. Trying tinypic. I've been doing something different for pictures. Hope this works.

Ok that's better than my other method. But not sure why Chauncey is sideways after you click on the thumbnail.

Melina 09-12-2015 05:49 PM

MLD, I love that print! It is so beautiful! I would love to buy that, too!

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend. I'm at work, it is very very slow. I think everyone staying at our hotel is eating out in Chicago and not here. No biggie, I'm doing a lot of food prep to get a jump on the next few days.

I'm off tmro! I will sleep in and then drink all of the coffee! In bed! While reading SR! And then me and my son will find some mischief to get into. Avengers Live is in town, I'll see how prices are. He would freak seeing his heroes live!

Sobriety has been really easy the past week. It feels very normal. I don't have angsty late night moments when I'm driving home late from work thinking about all the bars I used to go to off each exit I pass. And wondering if I'll ever hang out in a bar again. Right now it just doesn't matter to me.

I like things like this. I hope they last. I don't want to battle or struggle with my mind about alcohol like I used to.

Its been serene in my head and I want it to be like that always. Like alcohol just isn't of any importance in my decisions, bc it has no place in my decisions.

Love you guys, sending everyone hugs and smiles!

Day 104, woot woot :)

Melina I love that about it being serene in your head. That's what it's all about. I used to drink/drug chasing that serene feeling but it was always just out of reach. Who knew getting sober would be the key to finding peace, :)

Mesa....I like the guy behind the car on his hands and knees in the street! And I hope your new hand signals work out better.

Cute dog MLD.

I'm not sure why Chauncey came put sideways either Della but I do like tinypic.

MLD, I think the print is a lovely way to commemorate your grandmother. Go for it. If you love it, buy it. But you have to show it to us when you get it:)

I'm making a pot of chili. It's a long process for me. A stroll down memory lane. I first made it for a chili cook off that a bunch of the bar regulars had, outside the bar. It had a bottle of beer in it. I made it again for a Halloween party and a co worker wanted the recipe so I gave it to her. "Oh, I'll try it without the beer. Can't have alcohol" for religious reasons. I found that SO odd back then. Here I am twenty some years later making it without beer. My chili did win the contest though.

That's MLD, not Della on the Chauncey pic. My eyes are going.

Ruby2 09-12-2015 06:35 PM

I can't see the print!! Now I feel like a dork for saying you have to show it. This phone! Lunars Howe canyon pic showed then I refreshed the screen and it disappeared.

Melina, the super hero show sounds fun. I used to do Day out with Thomas before my son grew out of it. That was a fun day.

Della1968 09-12-2015 07:25 PM

I love Howe's Cavern....get some fudge!

I am struggling bad tonight. Not going to drink but it scares me that if something was here I definitely would. Somehow all the self esteem I thought I had worked so hard to achieve is shot to hell in two days. Uncle.

lunar 09-12-2015 07:45 PM

I..............Like......... FUDGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MLD51 09-12-2015 07:48 PM

Della!!!! Hugs to you!! Whatever's going on, don't let it take away what you have worked so hard for. Is there someone you can call and talk to?

Della1968 09-12-2015 07:53 PM

Thank you Marty xoxoxoxo I will be ok. Always am. Even that gets old lol. Your doggie is adorable!

Lunar they have an amazing Creamsicle fudge there...have some for me!

Aarryckha 09-12-2015 07:55 PM

Heck, Della, if you've been struggling for two days and haven't thrown in the towel, that should make your self esteem soar!

How about some ice cream instead?

Della1968 09-12-2015 08:00 PM

Thank goodness I don't have any of that here either :) Maybe brussel sprouts lol

Jsbodhi 09-12-2015 08:38 PM

Della xoxo

Ruby2 09-12-2015 08:44 PM

Della! Don't you sometimes hate saying I will be okay, always am? Always being strong? Group hug for Della. I hope it passes soon.

I'm watching TV and looking at my Asian cookbook that I rediscovered on a shelf in my mother's kitchen. I've been looking for it.

Tomorrow morning I'm going to my 8 a.m. AA meeting. Should be good. Then church and maybe popping in at my parents to visit my Dad. Afternoon? Relaxing and making beef stew. I bought unsweetened grape juice and will add some balsamic vinegar to sub for red wine

Upwardspiral 09-12-2015 09:04 PM

Hi just popping in. Hope everyone is well.
It's turning delightfully chilly in Georgia this weekend after a hot, humid, rainless summer. Not even going to let all the wasted college kids partying on my street tonight keep me from sleeping with my windows open. Ah, I sit here in my fuzzy robe and think about what's going on at their parties right now and I don't envy them one bit!!
