Starbuck's is the McDonald's of coffee. It's junk food, basically. I went to the "original" store in Seattle once - kind of neat but the coffee wasn't any different. |
I got called into work this morning, bah! It's always me and never my boss Lot of people in UK boycott Starbucks because the pay so little tax |
Intresting photos Venecia Kit Kats don't taste as good as they used to IMAO. Sweets were a treat when I was a kid so maybe I appreciated them more |
Hello peoples... I've been quite busy and am redirecting my time to things that need to get done around here. Also have been hiking. Last weekend a gruesome 8 mile then a six mile with fewer rocks everywhere - and it was in the 90s. Planning to do a least one good hike a weekend with the missus and get some day hikes in by myself. The seed I planted for the AT is starting to sprout. Maybe she thinks I'm kidding? Discovering that some albums I have if they were taken care of would be worth $$$. Plus trading cards, tools, harley memorabilia... and a lot of miscellaneous stuff to unload. I just put another 140 in my pocket 30 minutes ago. Next weekend the big garage sale. If it ain't bolted down it's for sale. Also getting some good practice time in and finding out what seemed impossible a few months ago is starting to become effortless. Looking into volunteer time for the NPS until I can get a "position". Still eating oats with fruit. Belt got loose in the past few weeks. Went to buy a pair of cargo shorts in 'my size' and I didn't even bother fastening the button - maybe I can loose the 30 lbs I desire by spring. Need to start hitting the gym again since my excuses are now nothing more than laziness. Hope all are well. And yes, I'll post a tune for the mood. |
Lunar I'll keep good thoughts for your dad. I hope he gets positive results. Venecia, lucky you! I've only been to Door County twice and that was a while back. Mera, that's funny you were just talking to the producers. I watch once in a while. I always wonder how they find people. Your garden sounds great! Mine was a jungle but not very productive. One zucchini and it was inedible. I'm going page by page here. I'm at gymnastics with daughter. Cold and raining here. It's supposed to clear later but temps will stay in low sixties today. Forties tonight. Tetra, it sounds like you're having a good time. Weas, I don't imagine we'll see much of you with 18 miles to knock off today. Good luck! |
Hey Brain! Thanks for M. Doughty. I used to listen to Soul Coughing and haven't heard his solo stuff. Sounds like you've been super busy. But not busting up Starbucks. I don't get Starbucks at the store but I've found that their ground decaf comes closest to actual coffee flavor so that's what I brew. Going in to watch daughter do gymnastics. See you all later. |
Oh I love love love Soul Coughing and M. Doughty!! Thanks for that! |
I knew I liked you miscreants. I can't stand Starbucks and when I tell people that they look at me like I've got three heads. I never willingly walk into one. Hi Brain. I plan on spending most of the day outside since the temps have finally dropped...85 for the high. :) I've said this before, but I wish there was donut delivery. Chocolate glazed and cinnamon cake please. :) |
I live in the land of Starbucks and I don't like it either. I can't say that out loud, they'll take away my PNW card. LB, what is "AT" in your post? I guess you're gone again, though. Tell me next week. Beautiful sunny Fall day today. I slept in till seven! I won't be walking 18 miles, but there is a walk in the plans. |
1 Attachment(s) . Wassup Sober Cowpokes ~ We be headed back to the Wild West House after a fun 5 days at this amazing Campground. Lovin' this new RV Trailer. All were had by a good time. Met a Boulder-based Pal+GF yesterday at a local Western-type Joint for Lunch. All the Servers pack, Open Carry. As seen below on this cute Ranch Gal's Hip while she tallied our Check, most strapped on their Glock 19. A 9 mm as favored by Cops and Park Rangers. Legal in Colorado. No Permit. Banks and Gumment Offices are off limits. Local Gas Drilling has really driven this Economy, so it's a more diverse Town than when Da Wife + Gal Pal stopped here in the early '70s from Michigan. She clearly recollects a no-BS Cafe Sign that meant what it said: 'No Shoes, No Shirt, No Bra, No Service'. As a couple of 'Free Range' Hippie Chicks back then, they had to go back out to her '68 VeeDub and put on Flannel Shirts. 'Lock & Load', as Gunners say. ~45 years on, she had a good time this Trip, as did I; thanks - in no small part - to Alcohol-free Camping. A first. Watched a hilarious High School Homecoming Parade yesterday, celebrating the Football Game to be played this Weekend. Scenes right outta the end of 'Animal House', but w/o the chaos. Mebbe some Pix later; back when I'm on a Cellular Air Modem connection that's faster than this Carrier Pigeon-speed one here via a distant Cell Tower. I'm lovin' my strong French Press Coffee. Ya don't complain about the weak Coffee at this Lunch Joint. Keeps things civil, fo sho. No 'Dine & Dash' shenanigans when trying to stiff the Meal Check...-) - 'Bang Bang' ~ Cher ~ Live In Lost Wages NV- . |
He's referring to the Appalachian Trail, bimini. |
I'm not sure I'd like to live somewhere where the servers were packing. In WA there are no guns allowed in the same place alcohol is being served. Seems prudent. Thanks trach, on the "AT" thing. |
Hi, Mera, You asked about posting photos. I *think* I have it down pat so here goes: 1. Go to your profile page. 2. You should see a spot on the right side that says "Albums." 3. Click on that. Toward the left, you should see a place that says "upload photos." 4. Click on that. You should be able to pull up from your own pictures there and upload. Then, click "save changes." 5. To share, click on the picture and highlight, then copy, the address (the top bar underneath the photos). 6. Be sure to highlight all the way across the web address. If you don't get it all, the photo won't post. 7. In your post, you'll see a little icon, six icons over from the right. Paste the address in there. Be sure to delete the http:// that appears in the box where you paste. It is redundant. That *should* work. Mesa, Big S and a few others are regular photo-sharers. Did I get it right? It would be lovely to see your part of the world. And you're doing great, Mera. Keep up the focus and good work. |
Hey Sober Enders!!! Happy Saturday. I shall peruse the posts while I sip my second cup of coffee. Not Starbucks. Quiet day here planned. A long walk with the dog, pick the remaining veg from the garden and then home to bake cookies and work on crafty things. A little husky football and some Netflix methinks. Chicken stir fry with afore mentioned remaining veg will be the late afternoon meal and the upcoming weeks lunches. I hope everyone is having a grand Saturday! :) |

Sweets were a treat when I was a kid so maybe I appreciated them more I still loved baked things but am trying to relegate them, too, to the rare treat category. Every gol darn ounce I put on can be attributed to the booze and I've worked mightily to take it off. Still another 15 pounds or so to go. They came off a lot harder than they came on, but I guess I was too wasted to notice. Sigh. |
Happy Saturday morning, my fellow weekenders! I work in a restaurant and there are days I'd love to be packing some heat like that picture above. Off to the grocery store. Work tonight. All is good here in sunny West Texas. |
Hey. Just checking in from work. It went from being 40c last weekend to 15c this weekend. Cold and rainy day out there. I actually had to put a sweater on today. Good day to be stuck at work. Makes me sad that the summer is almost over and the snow will soon be here but autumn is one of my favourite times of the year. Can't wait to play in the leaves with my kids like I use to do when I was little. I think thats one of the best things about having kids. You get to do all the stuff you use to do when you were little and people won't give you funny looks. Lol. Day 10 and counting. Have a great day and be safe. |
Mesa, to a non American that photo looks kinda chilling Speaking of which has Cher got any human DNA left? She has a fantastic voice but she must be insecure about something I drink French Press too its Redex for humans 40C timeforchange dam! I always thought Canada was cold Cakes and things are one of the few vices i'm not tempted by Venecia. Chocolate and ice cream definitely but cakes and pies don't hit the spot for me. Wish I was the same with booze I was shopping in the market this afternoon - Dizzee Rascal was impromptu DJ-ing from a balconey (OK I 'fess up, someone told me who it was, i'm not that down) |
