Heat wave, site! Chicago has what is known as Instant Summer. My heat was on last week and "ta da!" It was 78 yesterday and warmer today. The billboard near work that flashes what the weather is like in L.A. to lure me to travel is no longer flashing its siren call.

A stressful day on the farm here. I think as the workload begins to peak, and it is, well it's plateauing at a mad rush for the next 4-6 weeks; I get super stressed. I think I may be addicted to the anxiety. I just get so amped up. This season I'm trying my best to stay mindful and tell myself to slow down and relax. Check back soon. Just say no!

I didn't feel so good this week.

I had a job interview last Tuesday.

I have another one next Monday.

I'm looking for a better job with more pay so I can get a place of my own.

However, I was thinking about it all tonight.

And I still remember the days I prayed for the things I have now.

Post 500!

Finally unpacking boxes and filling the new cabinets. I purged like crazy when I packed up and now after a couple months of working with the bare essentials, am purging again. Don't need harvest gold casserole dishes from my wedding shower 37 years ago! The wood salad bowl that leaks dressing? Blender that doesn't work as well as the immersion? Nope. I'm going to have a number of empty cabinets, but I will love everything in them. Even the cookie sheets.

Listening to a thunder storm, feels like summer. Bliss. Only thing that could be better is that place where BigS is.

You bet! But don't mind my not talking so much; I'll be working on my finals in the backseat!

9 days sober today. Looking forward to 13 days sober on Monday. This weekend will be a sober one!!!!

Temps reached 86 today. It took me two hours to get home. I'm decompressing on my quiet, traffic free, back porch.

Bernie, my mother just gave me a set of circa 1970 sheets still wrapped in plastic and a set of 50 year old unused, cheery yellow dish towels from her wedding. She's purging too. But one can always use sheets and dishtowels.

Tetra I think you have a great attitude it's always good to strive for more but be grateful for all we have. You are doing that perfectly.

Tetra you make a great point. As we settle into our sobriety, we start raising the bar. Our expectations grow. Stay sober, folks...it's not all we have, but it's the foundation for many accomplishments. I remember those feelings too, Tetra. Quite frankly it's a great sign. Wanting more out of life (better wages, your own flat, etc) shows how much you are caring for yourself and your own well being.

Back up from the swim. Executed about 4 very imperfect swan dives and splashed around for a while. Nothing beats a warm shower and cozying up after a day in the water, took care of that and made dinner. Ate out here on the terrace. Seltzer water and lime in hand. Heading inside shortly and up to the loft. Movie on the way. Popcorn. Maybe a book and an early bedtime. Life's grand and it's a good day to appreciate how much sobriety has given me.

Sounds like a perfect day and evening, bigsombrero. Life is grand...but it sure wouldn't be if we were still drinking.
I had a good day also but I'm starting to think that my naps make me feel more tired and groggy. I think I will stop napping on work days and leave it for weekends.
Wow, tomorrow is Friday already. ..yay!
