Yaaaawwwwnnnnnnn. Morning. Another busy weekend for me. Golf tournament and Mother's Day. Sober? No problem. |
I'm in as well! By the end of the weekend I should be at day 25 :dance3:: Let's do this guys. |
I'm in! Hey Everybody, have a great weekend! |
Good morning! I'm in. |
Good morning and count me in guys. A nice weekend ahead with Saturday set aside for a long visit with my mom. |
I don't know what to get my mom :( |
Hi everyone, My last week before I return to the world of work! I'm excited and looking forward to a sober weekend :-) |
Me either, Della. My family is to the point that no one needs anything, and most days don't want anything. Consumables seem to be the current trend with us. Candles, soaps, fragrances, chocolates. I'll be showing up with flowers, a card, and Sunday dinner. Maybe another inspired something. We'll see. |
My family is the same. I may hire somebody to mulch and weed for her. Then Fathers Day will be next yikes. I am very lucky to still have both. |
Riding Roof Wolfstyle Thanks Weasel |
Here! We will be celebrating Mothers Day Saturday as I, the mother, have to fly out to Vermont Sunday for a conference. There are dinners and receptions and a lot of drinking at these events. Last one, I noticed some nondrinkers. Think I'll get to know them a little better this time. My children buy me two hanging baskets of fuscias and make brunch every year. This year it will be a barbecue. The older generation are all gone. |
I'm in. I get my mother some annuals for her pot on the front porch. The large pot was a gift from a different mother's day. Saturday I think is a spring dance sponsored by a local AA club. I may check it out if I'm feeling up to it. Still not 100%. Congratulations on new job Jane! That's great! Bernie, enjoy Vermont. It's pretty and they do make fine cheeses there. Thanks Weasel for starting us off so super early. Coffee is calling my name. |
Climing aboard! Greetings everyone. Where has the week gone? Will catch up later. B |
Hey team... soz I decided to go back on an antidepressant. Not a fan but I think at this juncture that I know myself and should get some extra help. I was on this before and the first few days I feel the side effects. So I was in work and came home to work the rest of the day here. Will be around! :) Great to see everyone filing in and taking a seat... or roof! Have a great day! |
HI everyone. Happy Sober Weekend. Mother's Day is always a mixed bag for me. I love spending time with my daughters but also take time to remember my own mom. She died from cancer 7 years ago. Also, I strongly suspect that my girls are getting me the original Nintendo and Mario Bros game for Mothers' Day. I cannot even begin to admit how excited I am! Last year for Mother's Day, I graduated college the day before, so I was quite hungover. BAD! It'll be nice to be alert, sober, and present for the day instead of faking it and praying for the time I can go to bed. A lot really can change in a year. |
Good Morning Sober Enders!!!!! I am in! I was looking forward to being not busy this weekend, but the weatherman says summer the next few days, which always seems to drive me out of doors..at least for a little bit. We shall see. Indoors or out, I will be sober!! :) |
I am so gonna kick you butt this weekend Olive!!!!! Ha HA! |

So jealous of the original Nintendo!!! I have most of the games on my WII but it's not the same :( |
halluuuuuuuuueeeeee! Went to hall and oates concert last night. I never owned or listened to them on purpose until last night. Got that over with. Although true fans loved it. Band was solid but poor Daryl. Wife said she felt sorry for him trying to hit some of the high notes. It was sad at times. But, and I say BUT, when they weren't sticking to the scripted pop song formula and jamming, these guys were good. Really good. Kind of a funky disco rock jazz sort of thing. And it just seemed to me hall and oates were not good buddies for some reason. Hall definitely was the show. And he shamelessly plugged Daryl's House, new season starts tonight. Overall they put on a great show. Production was top notch for a small set up, sound could have been better. No visuals except lighting effects. I thought it was done brilliantly. When I saw TPetty here sound was bad too. I picked up front row seats on the side for James Taylor in July. They must have been holding this section out cause the rest of the place was almost sold. 3X the seats as for HNO, full arena set up. I'm done rambling. Today is wife's "pinning" ceremony and they say the pledge of allegiance to nursing thing. Having dinner after with sister and hubby. |
I'm in- Good decision Weasel....sometimes we need a little help restoring an imbalance, can be short term. Why suffer when we have options. Ok everyone. ..let's stay sober and really ENJOY this weekend! ! |
Wow, the gang's all here bright and early! Weasel, sounds like the sensible move. I myself am on an anti-depressant as well and life right now is better for me, emotionally. Glad you are making some good sober decisions about your health! LB - cool info on the concert. Interesting Hall & Oates tidbits that I never thought I'd learn! Day 4 up in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. I'm pretty far off the beaten track, but I did take a boat into the major port town of Panajachel yesterday and went to the grocery store. Kind of like camping up here, but with all the good stuff and none of the bad. I've got a 2-story house with a great view, a decent wifi connection to work, and the peace and quiet I've been craving. I've gone swimming a few times off the dock, it's awesome. This huge lake is gorgeous. Here's the view out of my window this morning. Ahhhhh. http://i59.tinypic.com/2zybtj5.jpg |
