Saoutchik, I wouldn't have known what fascinators are but for reading People magazine.

Happy Sunday Sober Enders!!!

Just back from a walk with the dog and a stop by the garden. Planted my Walla Walla sweets and the celery and gave it a good water.

Always when walking the just recently shorn dog I get comments on what a cute puppy he is, and then they ask how old he is. I tell them he is going to be 9 soon....in fact his birthday is tomorrow!
Would that every time I got my hair cut I could look younger!

Ah, well, off to do some chores!
Be well!
:)

First ship of the season. I did not expect it so soon but vacationland will be in full swing soon. This is the Oceania Marina. Relatively small for what can sometimes be seen docked.

Love the water walks. The sounds of the sea gulls echo through the cobblestone streets of the old port.

I'd love one of those lobster rolls right about now!
Tetra...think of all the money you are saving by not buying vodka at 11am anymore.
Just watched a pretty good movie..the gambler. ..I like mark Wahlberg.
Now I'm going to try to get my lawn mower started.

600 mile round trip on rail to view a house for 15 mins and my weekend has been all over the place , that and playing assassins creed black flag ! wow what a fun game swashing a buckling around the place :)
I am pretty tired so haven't been posting much so i hope you've all been getting through , not to many hours to go and it will be monday and the regularity that a work day brings .

New day , new start :)

Bestwishes, m

Gilmer and Ruby...I don't think you could have had the experience of weeks of insanely loud cicadas in the Smokey Mountains.

I thought I would lose my mind. It is so loud and never stops, 24/7. My parents used to live down there and it was crazy.

Now the regular cicadas/locusts in the summer in the South? Nice, relaxing, southern ambiance.

Those other things?

I think we can all agree that that octopus is cool! :)

I mean I grew up in Florida. Never did we have the kind of cacophony that the Georgia cicadas created.

Ruby2 05-10-2015 03:10 PM

The cacophony of Georgia cicadas has a nice cadence, Bimini. You're right. I've not experienced the mind blowing sound. Loud here but not quite that loud.

Mom was just now yelling at playoff basketball game. Bulls lost. Mom is the sports but in the family.

Lived sober this whole weekend. I'm counting three in a row. No alcohol at all since April 22nd.

I like your pictures Weasel.
Is that Maine?
I lived in Portland for a while as a child. Ah those are happy memories!

That's so great to hear! Good work. Keep going strong! Speak up if you need a boost of support!

That is Portland Maine. Yup! Love this place!

Wowza...my lawn mower started. I was quite surprised. Gave the yard a quick going over although it isn't growing full tilt yet. I'm sure it looks better.
Kinda boring day...I feel I wish for days like this and then when I have nothing I have to do I get bored and complain. Well, mothers day and all....missing my mom and my kids aren't here.
Gonna enjoy the rest of the day cause tomorrow is monday! Ugh.
happy to report that a drink or 10 doesn't sound good to me. *****. :c011:

So after cleaning the cars - bugs bugs bugs - and making chicken on grill, my lawn mower started too. I don't recall not cutting the one bottom back but it is a lush heavy growth of grass. Tall in places and I'm in sandals. I do my best to clean my feet off and hop right in the shower and use that brush to scrub the feet. T-shirt and gym shorts... and relax for the night...
Hope everyone had a great Sunday. And Mothers Day. :flow:

Back when I was younger I did some adventurous things and I was pretty athletic. Now the extent of adventurous things is a hike on a mountain - and even that is sketchy without a walking stick. I mean I scuba dive, but it's pretty tame.

So I live on a popular bike trail and my computer desk is at the window where I see all the goings-on. Just now this guy came by with one of those off-road baby strollers - the ones with the three wheels...he was on roller blades with two huge boxers (dogs) following behind. That is coordination.

Ruby2 05-10-2015 05:07 PM

Way to go Solarion!

HaF, glad you didn't celebrate lawn mowing with a drink or ten.

We're home from my parent's house and my daughter is a swirl of hyperactivity which is driving me crazy. Needs to settle down. Before I go crazy.

Well, respite from chores I always pay for in terms of spending my Sunday evening cleaning up for the week.

gettingsmarter 05-10-2015 05:20 PM

Bimini that's a funny mental pic. Stroller, rolerblades and 2 dogs. Sounds like someone is getting it done.
Settling down myself with some Korean tofu soup and a scary movie.

happyandfree 05-10-2015 05:30 PM

I know what you mean ruby...I will have to vacuum first thing in the morning. Unless I get a second wind tonight, which is unlikely.

biminiblue 05-10-2015 05:32 PM

Haha. The guy just roller-bladed by going back the other way. He's still upright, hasn't lost the stroller or the dogs, and the pups are lagging way behind with tongues lolling.

Win/win.
