Good Morning Overs:wave:

FBL, pleased Fran is doing much better! :)

I contacted the estate agent yesterday, being cheeky, and asked if we could have a look around out soon to be new home. It’s been a while since we viewed 🙄 and although we have pics of various rooms we’d like look in real life. So we have an appointment Wednesday to have an ‘unaccompanied’ viewing. I feel like a grown up! :biglaugh: we’ll be taking the tape measure too.

Toots are you settled in your new apartment? Got things how you want them? :)

I ordered groceries on line for mum-law-law to be delivered today and they didn’t have her tv magazine. In fact they had no tv mags. Wonder if it’s because of Queen Elizabeth’s passing? Or just a coincidence. It’ll upset Mil’s equilibrium if things aren’t just right. :dunno:

Have a good day my friends xxxx lots of love.

tootsl1 09-09-2022 11:13 PM

Mags maybe they recalled the TV mags as nothing will be as shown. Good to hear you get to go round the new house again, I'd suggest taking more of your own pictures and note things like socket placement. Take measurements for curtains too.
We spent a total of 3 weeks in the new place before coming across to Spain for 3 months. We did get the flat pretty squared away though.
Unfortunately our neighbour underneath called me last week to report a leak and we had to get a plumber in. He had to lift the shower, removing wet wall and the screen to do so, and all will need replaced. Spoke to our insurance yesterday and they won't pay. We need to try to make a claim on the buildings insurance the Factor takes out, otherwise we'll have to cover all costs ourselves. Not cheap as it's a huge walk-in shower. Ho hum.

Sass, my mum was quite upset at the queens passing, I think I brought up memories of my dads.

FBL good news on Fran.

Have a Super Saturday/Sunday Overs.

That’s exciting Mags! It’s always fun to plan decorating a new place :)

Yikes Toots! That’s no fun… hope it’s not too much of a hassle to get fixed. :omfg:
Yes, thanks Dee for the new thread! :tyou

Free2bme888 09-10-2022 02:30 AM

Sorry about the leak, toots. Any chance sellers knew there was an issue?

We have a plumber appointment for our eldest condo on September 26th, and new carpet being installed 30th. The shower and tub faucet has no pressure, but the sink does. There was a huge leak into condo below just days before we closed on it, but after their management removed our toilet etc., the leak wasn’t caused by our condo.

After getting through our world trip, will be painting, fixing, buying furniture, decorating, etc.

Mags, idk why they don’t have TV guide. Weird.

My mum would have been so sad about Queens passing. It was a good run.

Purps, nice you checked in on the new August 22 class. Trying to balance me supporting them and posting on my reg threads

Purplrks3647 09-10-2022 02:34 AM

Awww thanks Free! We do some occasional recruiting when the Unders thread gets quiet….

World trip, Wow! Bet you’ve got some good pics! :D

Free2bme888 09-10-2022 02:41 AM

Thanks for the new thread, Dee!

it’s gorgeous here this morning. 70 deg F and sunny.

Have a lovely weekend :ws_flower

Mags1 09-10-2022 08:54 AM

Toots, the leak will be a bit of a pain. I hope you can get a claim on the building insurance.
Good idea saying to check sockets etc and take photos and measurements. I’ll be prepared. :tyou

Free2bme, hope your world trip is going great!

Just back from mum-in-law’s. She was happy because she had a few visitors. Two of her great grandchildren came to visit. She didn’t know them but she is always comfortable around kids.

Sassy pleased you’re having some nice weather. We’ve got sunshine at the moment but we have had showers. Well needed though.

Thanks Purps, it is exciting and will be more so when we get in. :)

SereneEdition 09-10-2022 09:07 PM

Belated ((((Mags))))) - hope the meds kicked in and again I’m sorry for the loss of your friend. How you got your early mornings back.

toots - uh! What a thing to have to deal with from afar.

C has started to take an interest in words and reading and since he wakes me up at 5am, our morning routine is to now read together while I drink coffee to start the day. (Having one child be a night owl, the other an early bird = very little solo time for me)

I’ve only known “queen” and “queen mother” so hearing “king” sounds awkward.

Free! Where are you headed on this world trip!!! I’m stuck at home. Let me live vicariously through you!!!

Free2bme888 09-11-2022 03:15 AM

India Cambodia Tanzania Morroco Easter Island Peru Fiji Jordan Australia

Pics in morning Gratitude, in my 21 August class, or just scroll through my previous posts.

In India now, feeling overheated.

Have a lovely Sunday to all :grouphug:

Oh wow Free. That is amazing. I hope you have a good time.

I'm eating lunch before 11 O'clock. I'm not sure what that says about me and my day but here I am.

Today holds a family Zoom, more work on stairs and maybe driving with a God son.

Mags1 09-11-2022 11:36 PM

Good Morning Overs

Hope it’s a good week for all of us.

Good Morning Overs

I’m in a real happy mood today. It’s a day off from mum-in-law’s (feel guilty for saying that, but I need my ‘me’ time),
I’m going to the local market when they open for bird food, fruit and a lazy dinner for tomorrow, shepherds pie. A stall does beautiful cooked pies, savoury and sweet and I always want to buy everything!
Then I’m going to pack all my bedding now I’ve got the winter duvet on.Mind you I was hot in the night, maybe a bit presumptuous but it’s done now..
I’ve got some of those space saver bags that you take the air out of. The bedding packs down much smaller. It’s still heavy though so the ads on tv say “great for taking in your suitcase on holiday” :dunno: be too much weight surely.

I think also I’m pleased it’s my last day on steroids and antibiotics. So hopefully my weird wired brain will settle down. I’ve bit my tongue a lot this week. :biglaugh:

Bekind we were talking on Whinys thread about some books/podcasts being heavy going. Can change our moods.
Well nowadays I don’t laugh much. I mean really laugh until I cry. I happened to be looking at a video my sis had put on Fbook and then it scrolled to the next video which was Peter Kay. For non UK’ers Overs, he’s a comedian who talks about every day things, often around his mum and Nan. Very funny in an English sort of way and a well loved person.
Well I howled and howled with laughing, croaking like an old goat, tears pouring down my face. I was a blubbering mess of joy! It’s good to laugh! :lmao

Have a good day my friends xxxx

Me 3 on photos Free!

I travelled around for 2/3 years before I had kids. I’m glad that I did it and I’m happy where I’m at now. Definitely didn’t stay any place with a view - I was on a shoestring budget. But I walked a good 10 miles most days with my camera.

and that’s all the time I get to say hello as my youngest is sick and apparently can’t sleep unless I hold him (night 3 of this - but I can tell he is legit feeling miserable).

Happy week to all the Overs!

Free2bme888 09-12-2022 10:28 PM

Laughter is soo good for the soul! My mum used to laugh o had she couldn’t talk, and I do that too, tears streaming down my cheeks. There is a boozy couple on the plane I have t been too keen with, but he mans laughter is SO contagious, he got me laughing in Australia. I not only felt good inside, but more accepting of him and them as a couple.

Free2bme888 09-12-2022 10:31 PM

SE, it’s hard when we are sleep deprived, but I’d give ANYTHING to have my babies to hold again. It’s such a gift. We are not of our parents loo, but our children are made with ours, and so the deep deep connection I believe.

I have been ignored by my son, and it hurts so badly. Take the gifts as they present to you, in the moment 🤓❤️

Mags1 09-12-2022 10:42 PM

SE, hope BB is soon better, bless his heart.

Free2bme I worked with a man who had an infectious laugh. If he started we all did. Brilliant. Glad you had some quality laughter.
Sorry you’ve been hurt by your son. When I read this and others saying same I wonder if I made my parents unhappy. I’m sure there’d were times I did. We muddle along in life and I guess parents (I’m not a mum) want to get it right for their wee bairns. It can’t be easy being a parent.

Free2bme have you left India yet?

Free2bme888 09-13-2022 01:11 AM

Yes, I’m the air now

passed Covid #8 test 🤓❤️

Yaaaay :dance1: safe flight x

Hello all!
I'm so glad to be an official "Over"!
I remember what Itchy posted about joining this group :

But I kept sneaking in telling them how long it would be before I could join.

I remember sneaking too to see who were the "serious" Over members I would soon meet in here lol

Long time no see Itchy, you will celebrate 12 years sober in a few days so hi if you pass by! :wavey:
Using your "official" Overs Secret Greeting of course!
