Be where? In that movie theater?:dee

In 1985. In America. In the body of a five to twenty year old person.

Wish I'd known, I polished off the pulled pork for lunch. Only enough for a sandwich was left from the party, and it was a 10 lb shoulder I smoked! Still have lots of slaw though!

LoftyIdeals 05-05-2016 01:49 PM

Just kidding. I was already past that age band by 1985, so all I remember is Pee Wee's Big Scandal!

Fabela, my uncle Thor from Oslo used to make Norwegian meals, as did my grandfather Omer, but for the life of me I can't remember what they were! I was very young. I have more recently had a traditional Danish Christmas meal that I remember had lost of sausages and cheeses. I was fortunate enough to go to Copenhagen one December and remember all the food and drink at Tivoli Square, too. I can eat Brussel sprouts about twice a year, with lots of butter.

I have an uncle named Thor as well, Lofty. :D Danish food differs quite a bit from Norwegian, we have loads of mountains and fjords that give us fantastic produce. Tivoli is magnificent, I'd love to go there again soon.

Bobbieka 05-05-2016 02:19 PM

Crap, I'm hungry again.

CaseyW 05-05-2016 02:30 PM

Try a cheeseburger in a can!

And then you can wash it down with some dehydrated water:

Luv me some brussels sprouts! I also luv pulled pork. Pork shoulders are on sale at my grocery this week. I'm gonna' buy one and smoke it this weekend!

CaseyW 05-05-2016 02:37 PM

You're going to smoke pork? Do you use a pipe or do you roll your own?

Thank you! Thank you! I'll be here all week. Be sure and tip your waiter!

beerbgone 05-05-2016 02:40 PM

Sometimes either. Stuff is damned hard to get lit!!!

I've never met another Aussie on here that I knew in person Casey - but probably best that way ;)

D

CaseyW 05-05-2016 03:04 PM

And for dessert--bacon ice cream!

Why are you trying use American English spelling instead of British Fabela? Just curious, I'd have thought British would be more common there.

I don't know if pee wee was a thing here, not when I was a kid but maybe I just missed out.
We had some bizarre shows though, these are some of the weirdest.

I'm sure glad we all seem to be foodies! Hey, Casey, how about pizza on a stick?!

Oh, and while I am thinking about it, my avatar is not a "butt rock". Its just what you see when you go behind Mt. Rushmore.

CaseyW 05-05-2016 03:16 PM

Good morning, immri! I now want to watch and write a review of every episode of that "Round the Twist" show. I could do 2,000 words on that crazy theme song sequence alone.

That other link you posted--no. Just no. No wonder Australians love to drink if that's the kind of thing you're exposing your children to.

That one was the best. So Aussie, love it.

Ah I want that ice cream!!

CaseyW 05-05-2016 03:18 PM

Lofty! Ha! I'd recognize Teddy Roosevelt's posterior anywhere!

Casey round the twist was insane. Really bizarre stuff, Google the 'whirling derfish' episode for a summary I probably can't post here :lmao
And I know the mulligrubs face is so creepy

That pee wee link looks similar to things we have, but I've never seen that one specifically. He's a bit odd haha

Ah I want that ice cream!!

Is "Nazi" really the name of one of the characters on that Blinky Bill show??? You Australians need to be more careful with that accent. I've listened to the first line of that song three times now and am still hearing "This is the story of Blinky Bill and Flap and Nazi too!"

And wow, just now moved on the second 30 seconds and that show sure took a quick turn into darkness! "Hey hey Blinky Bill! Save us cute little animals from being ground into a million little pieces in a woodchipper!"

That theme song never ends, does it?

And that ice cream does sound amazing, doesn't it? Unfortunately I think it's some locally only available product in some tiny corner of the US.

CaseyW 05-05-2016 03:32 PM

I will definitely google that, immri.

And sadly as Lofty alluded to earlier, Pee-wee Herman is best known to many Americans for being arrested for, um, amusing himself in public in an adult theater in the early 90s sometime after his show went off the air.
