Create a habitual response.

Go home a different way and/or a different time.

Play the tape through and think about the consequences of a decision to drink.

Think about what you want the drink to do for you - relaxation, stress relief or whatever - and think of other, healthier ways to achieve the desired result.

Create a support network and use it. It might be AA or some other recovery group, it may be counselling...it may be SR.

You're not a slave to your desires. The part of you that wants to drink might want you to believe that but it's just not true.

Looks like you've been battling this for a while.

It's probably not going to be very pleasant - but it is entirely possible for you to not drink on Monday nght - or indeed any other night
