Thank you Dee!
Alarm wake up. Was having a great dream and now I can’t remember it. Why do we remember the awful ones?
Usual Sunday routine today.
Hope you get to feeling better wiscsober.

A pleasant day to all.

stargazer016 12-29-2019 06:11 AM

Got to sleep late, as I watched the second half of the college playoff game last night.

With a rare Sunday off, I think I will prepare a crock pot recipe. Throwing things in a crock pot and forgetting about them for eight hours is my highest cooking skill!

Have a good day all!

up at 8am, surprised that scruffy puppy was bugging to be fed.

Notch8 12-29-2019 12:48 PM

Up around 6am. Went to the tracks and watched a few trains before coming home and getting ready for church.

stargazer016 12-30-2019 02:34 AM

Up at 5:00 am for work.

Looks like a lot of rain will fall today.

Rare Sunday off, paid some bills, made a big dinner for the family, and watched some football.

Have a good day all!

wiscsober 12-30-2019 03:29 AM

4:15 AM

Enjoying my morning now that DIL is at work and Gdaughter has gone back to sleep.

Happy Monday to all.

stargazer016 12-31-2019 05:16 AM

Up at four but got back to sleep at six. Was having vivid dreams that I could remember upon waking. It still fascinates me that scientists have not determined why we need to dream. I am guessing the brain is probably cleaning up residual neurotransmitters from the day, and that is why we have strange juxtapositions of familiar people and places in our dreams.

New Year's Eve is here and we are ready to welcome a new decade. This past decade was dominated by my slow speed car crash that was my life while actively drinking and the following journey into that alternate reality called sobriety. I can see the next decade involving watching my kids become adults, my parent's and my wife's parents navigating old old age, and my possible retirement down the line. Ten years from now will look very different for me than today does. At least I have stayed away from alcohol for a few years now and have given myself a chance to make the best of what lies ahead.

Everyone here should be proud of probably their biggest life achievement- overcoming addiction. I remind myself that if I can overcome that, I can do anything.

Best wishes for 2020!

stargazer -- wonderful message.

wiscsober 12-31-2019 05:57 AM

I might not post until next year folks so....jk….no but really. My joke for the day, "well I won't see you till next year."

Winter is back just for the day.

I have absolutely no plans of old for tonight. Have some insurance under my belt.

Will keep rising early to meet the day.

Everyone here have a great day and see you next year.

melski 12-31-2019 07:14 AM

Thank you for the lovely post Stargazer.
I was tossing and turning last night like I did while I was drinking, then finally fell asleep at 3:30, up at 7:00.
Crazy dreams for those couple of hours of sleep, but I don't remember them.
First sober New Year's Eve/Day in a very long time.
I think it's good to look back at the last decade and see what worked, what didn't and what we learned from it to make a new plan.
Thanks for all the support here and happy new year all.

Happy New Year!!! 2020

Bring It On Early Risers!!!

lmvalentine 01-01-2020 06:15 AM

Woke up around 4:00 AM. Obviously asleep well before midnight. I remember being young and dying to get out and party.
DIL volunteered to work today. I was so looking forward to a break today from babysitting...daycare has been been closed due to ownership switch and holidays.
Wind is 45mph and gusts to 65 so it is a good day to stay in after all.
I sound like a whiner!

Happy New Year to all.

melski 01-01-2020 07:16 AM

I made it to about 11 pm last night then fell asleep.
Never really liked going out to party on New Year’s Eve but would sure stay in and party!
Glad we have a new decade.
Hope everyone has a safe and happy day,

STDragon 01-01-2020 07:36 AM

Happy new year! Ate too much, The kids and my dad couldn't make it to midnight last night, but I stayed up with Mrs D and saw 2020 in. was immediately in bed at 12:01 and listened to the to fireworks. Up at 8:30 this morning, now I have to prepare for work tomorrow.

Have a great day! Sober wishes for all.

stargazer016 01-01-2020 08:34 AM

I too went to bed at 12:05 am after the ball drop. Never really understood why folks made such a big deal of NYE, but I always went along for the party.

Have a good decade everyone!
