Thich Nhat Hanh died today at the age of 95. I've only read one of his books, Being Peace, but love his perspective on life. Rest in peace, gentle monk. You taught us a lot, if only we could learn it. :(

It is not the actual eyeball but the surrounding skin. Today it is not as hot but I still look disfigured with swelling. I do think it is slightly better though.

I was really frustrated yesterday when I couldn't pop to the shop to buy medicinal chocolate. Then the av popped up to add a drink would be lovely and you could get that delivered. I went to bed.

When I had an allergic reaction down one side of my face and around the eye, I had to go to work. And it was before mask wearing when I would e gladly put a bag over my head to cover the swelling. When my boss jumped back when he saw me I realised it was obvious to see! :biglaugh:

Thought of the day: Back in my native place, there is a saying that a tiger that has tasted human blood becomes a man eater and must be shot as it doesn't like other kinds of meat anymore. That tiger is AV. It must be eradicated, there is no way it can be kept alive unless we feed ourselves to it.

When I was in the doctor's waiting room with shingles affecting my face, I noticed out the corner of my eye the man next to me: first he glanced at me idly, because that's what you do in this town, you are likely to recognise someone.
Then he looked away, but realised there was something untoward and looked at me again.
Then he realised it's rude to stare, so he looked away.
Then he had a third, sneaky look. :biglaugh:

well, last night was literally the first time I felt uncomfortable/ackward at an AA meeting.

some context: during my in-patient treatment we all went to an AA meeting at night at a different location. Now that I'm outpatient, I like to meet up with the group to see how everyone is doing and catch up. It was extremely obvious that two people had taken a liking to each other and they were making that known. I was the lucky person to sit next to them. They were literally eye making out with each other without making out.

I could have moved but that would have seemed weird during the meeting. At least wait until the meeting is over to get your flirt on. I'm also fully aware that flirting does happen, but I just noticed it way more last night.
