I was having trouble with SR loading very slowly today and yesterday too. I restarted my computer and that helped. |
Willow, I'm so glad you had that magical moment of gratitude. That's really the best part of longer sobriety - just being happy to be alive and sober. Keep that going. 16 weeks is pretty great, but it keeps getting better if you keep working at it. Someday in the not-so-distant future you'll have an instinctive reaction to people like that woman - and I'm guessing it won't be fixing her dinner and allowing her to use your driveway and electricity! |
Great pic, Willow! The skies where I live are a lot like that. Opposite seasons this side of pond. First real hard frost witnessed yesterday morning, and first snow was a couple weeks ago. No snow since,,but usually get loaded starting in September. The aspen trees are starting to turn yellow. Ive never lived long where there are palm trees, so neat! Yes, got through the weekend. Love to all the weekender peeps |
It was loading slow for me a couple of weeks ago but seems to be fine now. I was wondering if it had something to do with school starting back. Kid drama eating up the internet waves or something. |
It seems to be loading OK at the moment. Wonderful colour to that sky Willow. It is a fine day here too although not to the extent of Willow's photo. London is noticeably busier this morning, I guess a combination of factors mean there are more people back at work from today. |

Is it only me but loading pages on SR is painfuly slow lately? Have a good day Weekenders! Its not only you, CK; I have been experiencing considerable slowness for a couple of days; rebooting hasn’t helped. CityBoy, your response made me chuckle. |
Free, some good friends live close to Breckinridge; what a lovely area. John Denver wasn’t kidding when he sang about the Rocky Mountains and Colorado. Lyrics He was born in the summer of his 27th year Coming home to a place he'd never been before He left yesterday behind him, you might say he was born again You might say he found a key for every door When he first came to the mountains his life was far away On the road and hanging by a song But the string's already broken and he doesn't really care It keeps changing fast and it don't last for long But the Colorado rocky mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky The shadow from the starlight is softer than a lullabye Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) He climbed cathedral mountains, he saw silver clouds below He saw everything as far as you can see And they say that he got crazy once and he tried to touch the sun And he lost a friend but kept the memory Now he walks in quiet solitude the forest and the streams Seeking grace in every step he takes His sight has turned inside himself to try and understand The serenity of a clear blue mountain lake And the Colorado rocky mountain high I've seen it raining fire in the sky Talk to God and listen to the casual reply Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Now his life is full of wonder but his heart still knows some fear Of a simple thing he cannot comprehend Why they try to tear the mountains down to bring in a couple more More people, more scars upon the land And the Colorado rocky mountain high I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky I know he'd be a poorer man if he never saw an eagle fly Rocky mountain high It's a Colorado rocky mountain high And I've seen it rainin' fire in the sky Friends around the campfire and everybody's high Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) Rocky mountain high (Colorado) |
My nephews' best friend's father lives in Breckenridge. He has all the boys up to snowboard, etc every year and he's a gourmet cook! They love it. I saw they last night for their bday. They're off to U of C at Santa Barbara soon, playing track and studying. I'm so happy for them. Have a great day all.:grouphug: |
Hope that your friend’s boys have a fantastic university experience, Aly. |
Happy Labor Day to all celebrating it. :) It's gorgeous weather here so I'm going to take Billie for a long walk. :) |
Yes Happy Labor day to all the US peeps. I am trying to enjoy my day off in spite of some PAWS symptoms. Played tennis this morning and now watching the US Open. I will also get some chores done and cook something yummy for dinner. Maybe a Quiche Lorraine. SR is loading pages really slow again. Other sites not so slow. Hmmm... |
Thank you Bim. Your words really hit a chord for me  Happy to be alive and sober :) And yes, people like that are not welcome in my life. I am working on being more assertive and she won’t be parking at our place again. John Denver has some wonderful songs. Thanks for sharing the lyrics Leigh. Free, I imagine the sky being vast and beautiful where you live :) Happy Tuesday weekenders :) |

^ absolutely beautiful Free. I love the wide open spaces and the beautiful scenery. |
Thanks Robbie, and I did have that song play, today, SL. Such a spiritual song…….thanks so much for taking the time to write out the lyrics😍 sorry about the PAWS CBS 😟. Hugs to you Least, I hope your walk with Billie was awesome. |
Free, wonderful pictures. I love aspen trees. Is that a ski slope? |
Yes, cityboy, I live near a very popular ski area in a resort town. |
. I did a few Sound Engineering Gigs in 'Breck', as we call Breckenridge. East of Free's general location. Singer Songwriters like Willis Alan Ramsey. Jerry Jeff Walker. I kinda remember those Evenings. My Trademark was simple: make it all sound like a very clean, loud, full-frequency Home Stereo. Breckenridge Pix 1 Week ago today MesaMate went under the Knife for the tenth time. This one was a 20 Minute Shoulder clean-up. In the Fiber Optic Pix, the Tissue looked like the shredded end of a Rope. Now, that's all snipped away so she's all mo bettah. Recovery and PT won't be so long this time. I'm playing Doc/Cook/Dog Sitter, and that's all familiar routine. Plenty to putz around with for the next 10 Days of stellar Weather around here. House and RV Trailer Projects keep me outta Jail. :smurf: I've been helping a pass-through Pal from the Dog Park find her way around this area; including some good spots to Tent Camp with her abandoned, Rescue Husky. She got into a few tight situations here, but nothing that our Cellphones couldn't extract her from. She's got a touch of Asperger's, so that changes how things get resolved. She's away soon, after some Car Repair, to climb another >14,000' [4,268 Meters] Mountain before she visits an Ashram/Temple many Miles away. 'Ballad Of Spider John' ~ Willis Alan Ramsey |

Aly, pleased your nephews have this opportunity to go to uni. hope you’re feeling better love  My wrist Is moving slightly better this morning. Progress from the physio and daily exercisers, or as the hospital call them the Physical Terrorists. Have a good Tuesday, let’s make it a sober one. xxxx |
