he's in the middle of this image. Police all around the tree.

SoberLeigh 10-14-2020 02:00 PM

Oh my goodness. I see him. Hope all ends peacefully.

SoberLeigh 10-14-2020 02:02 PM

Sao, your climbing experience sounds great. Congrats, again, on a successful climb. A sundae or two do sound in order.

MLD51 10-14-2020 02:26 PM

I hope they can talk him down somehow. This could end badly. :(

MLD51 10-14-2020 02:28 PM

I found the story.

He's in custody.

Saou, it seems like they would offer an alternative to a free beer. It must not have been an issue for them so far though.

Bimini, I say set up one of those suicide jumper net things and dart him so everyone can go back to work. Take his picture and tell him on a loudspeaker that by remaining in the tree, he is agreeing to the terms of being darted and waives any liability.

Cityboy 10-14-2020 03:10 PM

He's in custody, good.

I like to read the fish and game law enforcement emails I get about people getting arrested for boating under the influence. Something I don't have to worry about any more thank goodness. There are a lot of them. In the reports, often times the intoxicated person will jump in the water (abandoning his or her boat) and start swimming away in an apparent effort to escape the law enforcement guys in their boat. It's like, how did you envision that playing out for you there partner?

saoutchik 10-14-2020 03:47 PM

I'm guessing tree guy is one of us, at least during the course of whatever caused him to flee.

Yes, I guess if you're offering something for free you're not obliged to cater for everyone as you would if it were for a price - I'm sure there must be plenty of under 18's who climb it. Tbh even if they had offered ice cream or something I would probably not have gone in simply because I was too exhausted.

congrats, MNB

Morning Weekenders

Saou, blummin ‘eck! That’s rough ground to climb. I’m guessing (Hoping)you took a water bottle or flask coffee with you maybe?

Bim, I’m glad they got the guy down from the tree ok. You’ve gotta feel for the trees being blown down :dunno:. I think it’s a good idea to sell your car, especially having good public transport facilities. When I left work (made redundant) we both had a car each and after the first year and only touching a thousand miles on my car we decided to sell it. It was a biggie for me as I’d always had a car.

CityBoy, you gave me a chuckle with the dart.:lmao:

Great pictures Saou and Bim. The path in the woods looks similar to parts of our Twigmoor Woods.

Least so true what the cartoon says. I think it’s the same with kids too! :)

Leigh, that’s frightening to break a hip bone in a fall from the wind. A nurse told me a lot of elderly people who have a fall and break a hip or leg bone often have the fall because their brittle bone broke and caused them to fall. :dunno:

Well it’s Thursday today and I got that right. Hopefully I’m back to normal or as near as I could possibly be.

See you soon with the new thread. Not a tree in site. :yup:

A bit earlier than usual. Here’s the new thread.
