Fit for the future

How can we prepare?

How can we even think of the future?

We can draw on our experiences of
One Day At A Time!

Can you recall how getting through one day sober seemed an insurmountable task?

Along with the safeguards outlined for us...stay indoors....wash our hands..properly....

What about our mental wellbeing?

Our Addictive Voice (AV) will ramp up....attack if it can, at any doubts and worries may have.

Looking after our mental fitness and wellbeing will help us prepare and be.....

I have wondered this same thing. Is this what we needed as humans to settle our collective a$&@s down? Kinda get back to basics? I am like many of you. I am just fine with this. I function better under stress and am fine with being alone. My job is deemed essential so I go to work a few hours a day with no other people there. My only issue is I am the only one to get groceries and such for my elderly parents. I follow precautions but worry I will being a virus to them.

Coldfusion - have always loved that Steve Winwood song, so exhilarating - thank you :tyou

Della1968 - I have similar thoughts, I suspect many of us may re-define what is of true worth.

For you UKers who are looking for in depth modelling for covid from a fellow UKer, this model is really technical and lengthy...I couldn't read it, but in case anyone is really interested in a deep dive.

It IS two weeks old.

Greetings Fellow Isolators ~

And, thanks, Mags, for the very germane OP.

It sounds as if everyone is *kinda* getting the hang of this New {Sur]Reality, and making adjustments. I take my cues from MesaDog below. He gets it. After some high Clouds and a slight chance of sputtering Rain today, the next Week around here is gonna look pretty much like the Pic below. 70 F [21 C] degrees in Sun sans any Precip. Bitchen!

I received, and installed, our new retrofit Bidet Toilet Set. Easy peasy. Once I wire in a new GFI Power Outlet for it - and ditch the temporary Extension Cord - that TP-saving Project will be done. I think I'm gonna line up Tools for adding that Power Outlet by the Toilet another Day, and cut over this Afternoon making us some Masks outta Vacuum Cleaner Bags. Gotta up my Protection Game for ~weekly Trips down to The Hot Zone in Town.

The tidy, binary Step I've settled on - for Serenity and Mental Health - is to relax our assorted precautions 1 Month after receiving a tested, known-effective COVID-19 Vaccination *whenever*. For me, this decisive Step nips in the proverbial Bud the assorted swirling Midnight Scenarios in my Head.

MesaMate is now 5 Weeks past Shoulder Surgery, and Home Rehab is going well. She whipped up some Prosciutto-stuffed Baked Onions last Night from a 30+ Year-old Recipe Book she found. She just finished a Phone Video-based Mat Exercise Session arranged by her usual Pilates Instructor, so we plod along while adapting. I remembered I had an unused Cellphone Clamp for a Camera Tripod, and broke out that Gear just before the Session. A steady Cellphone nearby to watch the Workout made Life much easier for her. Once MesaMate and MesaDog are back to full Health, I can reach out more to safely help others as external things get really unsettled.

These 2 Songsmiths reportedly never met IRL; they collaborated via the InterWebz for this reworking of a Queen Song with a pertinent message...

You are serious about stocking up for prolonged isolation)

Speaking of which, in my part of the world it's extended till April 30 as of now.

Off to bed.

See you tomorrow.

Stay safe!

Actually I've recently discovered pasta with only butter and salt to be delicious. I may be wrong, but I think Italians have it like this too. Maybe not sugar and cinnamon.

I'm in this weekend too. I'm into my second month sober and I'm just finding myself relieved mostly. It's hard work living a disaster of a life, which drinking always manages to make. This is a stressful and sad time, but it has pushed me into trying to get healthier and fitter, and not blindly take for granted physical and mental health.

venuscat 04-02-2020 02:41 PM

When I was newly sober, I had no money at all. And I had to make do. I remember eating pasta with some butter (salt in the cooking phase)....and I was very grateful. :) xx

Yes, I am making sure we have enough food for two months. We are going to need it. We do not want to go to the grocery store at all, so I am getting around that. :) s xx

PS You do not want to know what they are charging for TP online.....it is exorbitant.

Willow00 04-02-2020 02:55 PM

Thanks Mags :)
Great to read everyone’s posts:)
Count me in for the weekend!

MLD51 04-02-2020 06:28 PM

When I run out of TP ( not anytime soon) I’ll be willing to pay exorbitant prices, as long as it’s absortitant. :D

Morning, weekenders.

Time for coffee and writing for me.

See you)

The lockdown won't last forever, we just have to endure staying in for a bit.

Yes a little kindness goes a long way. :)

Morning Weekenders, I hope everyone is staying well.

There was a nationwide "Clap for Carers" across Britain at least pm last night which was good to experience.

That's a touching video, Sao.

For some reason the link didn't work so I googled it.

Friday night here, drinking ginger & lemon cordial in soda water. Refreshing and delicious, and no hangover Saturday morning :)
I’m going to do a zoom yoga class tomorrow, I signed up to do some classes which is fun.
Happy Friday everyone, I hope you’re all doing ok :)

All the hollering and banging gave me a fright. I thought civil unrest had come early. :D

My gym is doing at-home online workout classes but I haven't signed on for them. Very difficult for me to get in the right frame of mind for working out unless in the gym physically. Have been getting a decent amount of excercise walking though, and the added fresh air, no extra charge for the pollen, or the ticks.

Morning Weekenders

Mesa, lovely pic of MesaDog, he’s got the right attitude! :)

I’m never sure of the day Vinny. I bought Mr. Mags a clock that displays the day, time and date. I just need something to remind him to look at it! :)

Suze... thanks xx

Gone dark here, I think it’s going to rain.....
It’s a shame it can’t wash the virus away. :dunno:

See you later. xx

dontlookbacchus 04-03-2020 04:20 AM

Excellent opening Mags.
Well put. We are all experts in taking things one day at a time. Maybe we have a few useful tools in our tool box after all.

Count me in !
