My Daughter was a late talker. We had her in speach therapy and the first thing they taught her was "NO". It's been 'no' ever since lol.

Fingers crossed.

Just noticed 100 days today YAY :)

I feel quietly and silently confident that I am on the right track. On a different path, one of total abstinence and breaking free from the chains of addiction...

Time for lunch :)

Congrats on that hundred, Vman. I know it was hard-won.

^that's a hundred dots. Don't ask, I haven't had coffee. Also, I don't know how the spaces got in there and I can't fix it. Ghosts in the machine.

Well, I was also an intelligence analyst. So, yes, sort of spy and espionage stuff. Not as interesting, though. Sounds very cloak and dagger, but it was pretty boring most of the time.

Learning Chinese was so much fun, though. It was an intensive training course - 48 weeks, 8 hours a day. It is very very difficult, but I am lucky to be one for whom languages come fairly easily.

Congratulations on the BIG 100 Vinny!

Congrats Vinny, and you too for yesterday Manta.

Beautiful screen cap of E13 taken today from the nest tree camera (13th recorded offspring of this female/mother eagle.) They are all over that tree the last couple days. Nest is just below its feet.

He/she is ready, methinks. Go go go!

Kaily 03-12-2019 12:08 PM

Wow that is a lovely picture!

I was watching the link you posted the other day then when I went out walking found myself looking up in the trees for eagles, not very likely in London!

biminiblue 03-12-2019 12:11 PM

Danger, Kaily. I started watching that camera four years ago and it's addictive. This year the sound is malfunctioning so at least I don't jump up and go look at every squeal.

This is an exciting time when the young fledge. It's kind of the end of the season for the cameras. They try to follow the young once they leave the nest, but it's hit or miss. They're out exploring the world! Except, "Feed me!" is still the rule of the day for a while and the nest means food.

I got a job offer today, which I'm going to accept, so I'm quite chuffed. :)

MidnightBlue 03-12-2019 12:44 PM

Good evening/morning, weekenders.

Oh, we are talking linguistics! MLD, as I said before people at SR never stop surprising me. You were a Chinese linguist at army! Wow.

I majored in linguistics at university. My thesis was on English Stylistics. I speak some French too.

Andy - Fingers crossed!

Manta - I so hear you about less stressful job that leaves space to actually breathe and live. Enjoy)

Vinny - 100 Days already. Time flies!

Bim - I love your eagles reality-show)

So many great stories about mis-gifts. I glad I decided to discuss it here because I had really hesitated whether to post it or not - primarily out of fear to look like an a**.

I am having a date tomorrow with Hell Maybe.

I think I need to find a way to wrap my tablecloth in such a way that it shows as little of the hideous print as possible. After all, soon it will be too warm to wear wool scarf, so I can do it once, I hope)

Bedtime here.

See you tomorrow)

well one Andy and Vinny

Sounds like awesome news, Vman! Even the lunch sounds good haha, I'm starving. The cheese and crackers I had at noon was good but more snacklike than lunchlike in nature.

theVman31 03-12-2019 01:19 PM

Congrats Andy :)

Thanks for the encouragement everbody.

After Life aired on french Netflix today (last Friday apparently) so I am watching a few episodes. Pretty good. A little bit of drinking in the first episode but wipe that aside and generally good laughs.
