Woke up pretty early this morning. It's 03:45. I suppose because we are heading off to the airport to fly back to "home" in france. That was fun I imagine PJ. You're poor dad :) One thing about old cemeteries in Eire is that you will find nice old celtic designs and knots on crosses and celtic style patterns and ornaments. These are often modeled on the high crosses from megalithic and Neolithic times ( - 12,000 years) We have one such site nearby : http://www.megalithicireland.com/High Cross Ahenny.htm I really am in the Halloween spirit maybe... :) Last night the children from the local primary school had a disco in the hall. Our mini vman was invited. She was fine but out of place... She was a french witch... Costume party :) It's always really interesting to see group dynamics and school yard antics in full swing. My nephews the boys who have been playing with mini vman all week were completely ignorant to her presence last night. Literally didn't want to be seen with her. My niece one of the older girls (11) in 6th class was looking after her. It was nice to see how socially gifted this little girl was. She is popular. A real lady at 11. She is not always the object of praise and has been known to get into trouble, doesn't like school too much, but she could switch from dancing and going crazy with her friends to going over to look after mini vman almost every 10 minutes. It was genuine and not because we were there. At 11 years old I think she was in control of egocentrism. The most academically gifted are not always the most socially gifted... Suppose that's why there are scientists and social workers... Bah I'm rambling... Later (from france) |
