Depressed and hungover

Drank way too much last night, made a fool of myself. I told myself I was not going to drink this weekend, we went away with friends (big drinkers) probably not a good idea, I didn't have a sober plan in place. Drank because I was feeling down and uncomfortable. I really hope today March 27th 2016 is the first day of my new life without alcohol, I don't even enjoy drinking anymore. It makes me depressed, fat, lethargic and anxious, so why do it. I pray I can do this.

Welcome xoxo
Drinking made me all those things too xo
Take it one day at time and make a good plan :)

Hi & Welcome Freshstart :)

You can do this, of course you can. At first it's very hard , but try to stay busy. Say no to picking up a drink every single time. Every day that you're sober is a win! If you need to count hours in the beginning, that works too. You deserve an alcohol free life:grouphug: Yep, you can do it! Stay close, we all have been where you are now.

Welcome :-). You can do this - just take one day at a time.

If I want to be all those things you described all I have to do is pick up just 1 more drink.

You can do it. This is a great place.
Welcome.

Just last week, I was in your same position. I'm also just now making that first step to tossing alcohol completely out of my life. You're not alone here.

Sip some water, get some rest, and let your body recover for today. After that, it's time to start assessing your drinking habits and seeing what you have to start changing. Won't be easy at first, I can attest to that, but you'll feel better in the long run. This site is full of great resources and stories from people in situations just like ours, learn from them.

Welcome!

You need to have a plan. "Wishing and Hoping" are not enough.

Welcome to SR, Freshstart.

Every time alcohol was in my system, unpredictable things happened. I'm sorry you had a bad weekend. You can get free of it - I hope you'll continue to read & post here.

I find it really exciting freshstart!

I was scared yesterday because I was detoxing and just generally beating myself up for making poor decisions lately but today is a new day and I'm happy we both decided to live a better life!

Congrats on day 1!
