Big congrats, Angie! |
It's technically tomorrow on the east coast so I'm calling it early here and saying that I'm TWO MONTHS SOBER!!! Woot! 8 weeks sober. Wow. Who would have thunk it? Well, since I tried to keep my drinking under wraps then I would have never "thunk" it. Yes, I know I'm still in early recovery but I'm just so happy about these two months. I don't miss the hangovers, the anxiety, worrying about when I had to stop drinking on Sunday so I would be ok-ish for Monday at work. I wasn't ever okay at work on Monday, it was a miserable existence throughout the week. I would often call Monday my recovery day (to myself) and count the minutes until I could go home to sleep. Also, hoping that I did not reek of alcohol. I'm smelling good nowadays. :) I love a good clean scent or a light fragrance. and people can smell that on me now. :) I did often drink during the week but most of the time I would drink two beers and be all depressed that I couldn't drink more. What a horrible life that was and I don't want it back. I'm scared of thoughts like just a couple won't hurt or other insane thoughts but I've gotten through them. I wish I had done this sooner but at least I'm doing it now. So, yay for 8 weeks and here's to many, many more! Shooting for the rest of my (hopefully long) life. :) |
Most hearty congratulations! I just passed two months on Saturday too and it's a great feeling. We've come a long way from those first tentative steps but I'm still often reminded how my sobriety is still fragile and needs protecting. I make it my number 1 priority every day. Anything else can wait. It continues to be a pleasure to share the path with you and the others in our group! Looking forward to 10 weeks! |
Congrats on the eight weeks Angie. Looking good. |
Huge ups for two months, Angie! Keep on keeping on! |
We had a very stressful meeting at work, and I didn't even think about alcohol during it or afterwards for a long time. I think that's pretty good. Survived the meeting and I just want to get a good nights sleep tonight. Tomorrow is another (sober) day. Day 60 will be on Friday. Yay! :) |
Just wanted to congratulate Angie 247 and Amp 123 on approx 2 months of sobriety. I'm working on day 4 here but feeling well and getting back to a level of normalcy. You guys have me 2 months behind but that doesn't matter if we are all going in the same direction. Blessings to you all. |
