Morning of day 8 and I finally slept! Like a lot of us newbies I've been having difficulty sleeping since my last drink 8 days ago. I've been dealing with twitches, sweats, heart racing, anxiety and just plain wakefulness. But last night I slept! Out around 10:30, very minor sweating and slept solidly until about 6am. I'm not confident that it's always going to be like that now but I sure am greatful for last night! :) |
A good night's sleep makes all the difference!!! Congratulations on Day 8, MissOverIt. |
Great job on Day 8!! Keep pushing through!! :scoregood |
Thank you! I woke up and literally said, What the hell happened?! I was so happy and refreshed. Pushing through the 7 hard nights was more than worth it. |

Congratulations on 8 days--fantastic! Ah, the sweet sleep of sobriety: I can't get enough of that. So great to wake up refreshed! |
Great to hear. Hopefully you are over the worst of it. Even after the first week i felt very raw for a good while- but it just keeps getting better |
You go, girl!!!!! :c011: |

Wow - congratulations! I am only on Day 2 , but can't wait for that feeling. |

Great to hear you got some sleep!!! Congrats on 8 days! The first 8-10 days were awful for me. I think I posted a desperate plea here on SR during that time. |
Congrats on Day 8 - it will just keep getting better and better. |
WHoo, great to hear! Thanks for the support all. |
Sleep is a beautiful thing. Good stuff!:c011: |
I am one day behind you ... 7 today for me. One full week! I echo your complaint about the insomnia and exhaustion ... I am like reversed, tired all day and then awake at night. It's getting better but it's still been a struggle. Just trying to stay focused and riding out the storm ... I think the first month is likely the most challenging as the body resets. Exciting though! Hang in there and hopefully sweet dreams. |

I sometimes think waking up without a hangover is better than winning the lottery |
