Morning of day 8 and I finally slept!

Like a lot of us newbies I've been having difficulty sleeping since my last drink 8 days ago. I've been dealing with twitches, sweats, heart racing, anxiety and just plain wakefulness. But last night I slept! Out around 10:30, very minor sweating and slept solidly until about 6am. I'm not confident that it's always going to be like that now but I sure am greatful for last night!

Thank you! I woke up and literally said, What the hell happened?! I was so happy and refreshed. Pushing through the 7 hard nights was more than worth it.

Great to hear. Hopefully you are over the worst of it. Even after the first week i felt very raw for a good while- but it just keeps getting better

Great to hear you got some sleep!!! Congrats on 8 days!

The first 8-10 days were awful for me. I think I posted a desperate plea here on SR during that time.

I am one day behind you ... 7 today for me. One full week! I echo your complaint about the insomnia and exhaustion ... I am like reversed, tired all day and then awake at night. It's getting better but it's still been a struggle. Just trying to stay focused and riding out the storm ... I think the first month is likely the most challenging as the body resets. Exciting though! Hang in there and hopefully sweet dreams.

LOL I said the same thing my first restful night. When you drift off and wake up to morning. Such a strange yet amazing feeling after going through so many restless nights.

I sometimes think waking up without a hangover is better than winning the lottery
