New weekend thread! 29 30 and 1!

I can see the thanksgiving weekend thread served its purpose.

Let's refresh the thread as we refresh our desire to stay sober this day.

I had a rough day yesterday. I need to refresh and let go of unproductive feeling and thoughts.

So I have plans to brave the shopping mall in a few. Just to spend a little and make myself feel good. Maybe get some flowers for the house.

How about you?

Ken

Boing....I'm in :) Xx
PS Apparently 'black friday' has landed here for the first time, this year :)

I'm in! This weekend is special for me on this journey, as I'll hit my 30 days tomorrow. While the holidays present their own challenges to sobriety (stress much, anyone?,) it's also an incredible time to get and stay sober. Seeing my kids enjoying the wonders amazing and even better with the in clear focus. ;-)

I'm in! And thanks Weasel, I also need to let go of unproductive feelings and thoughts today. It's a great reminder to start my day.

Boing.........Boing........Boing

Present and accounted for! :)

Good luck at the mall Ken, you wouldn't catch me 250 feet from there today!

Ruby2 11-29-2013 06:09 AM

Ditto LadyBlue! I am not one to brave the malls today. Too crazy for me. My poor sister in law recently started working at Target and had to work last night until 11 p.m. and again today starting at 11 a.m. She will be exhausted.

I am sitting here relaxing and watching Scooby Doo cartoons with my children and debating on what time to take them to visit my mother in law. Scooby brings me back to my own childhood a million years ago and memories of my brother and me sitting and watching them on a black and white television. Now that really does date me, doesn't it?

Maybe I will hit a meeting later.

Have a great day all.

I am in!
I don't always get the day after Thanksgiving off from work, but this year I do! I will spend the day cleaning up from the mess I made yesterday and working on art.
:)

I'm in! Usually I would be working this weekend and then hitting the bar hard. Not this year! I woke up feeling good enough to eat! That is a first for a black friday!

UnixBer 11-29-2013 07:55 AM

Count me in. Let's have a refreshing sober weekend.

Congratulations, Claire!

I'm in. No huge plans--lots of things to do around the house, as well as some work for my job.

Happy Friday everyone!

ImperfectlyMe 11-29-2013 10:31 AM

I'm in:) this is like a two for one Black Friday deal another weekend thread! At my families very excited. My sister and brother will be here too. Have a close friends baby shower so lots of good times. Oh and a huge pot of "Sunday Sauce" already cooking, I guess that would be "gravy" to you fandy;)

Happy weekend all!!! Xoxo

Weasel1966 11-29-2013 10:47 AM

Wow... After all this time... Non... You cannot tell a field mouse from a woodland creature of understated status?

Weasel1966 11-29-2013 10:50 AM

Sunday sauce? Hmmm... I remember mom simmering "sauce" for hours. The smells. Gravy is best left for turkey... Not pasta...

Well done Claire!

Yes, Thanksgiving sucked this year, it was also my B-day yesterday. Last year was spent with my GF and her daughters (who I adore). This year I'm on my own and miss them terribly. I had no desire to drink, but it basically was a tough reminder of how happy I was last year, and how bad my life sucks this year (only bright side is I am sober). Christmas will be even worse, I doubt I'll participate.
Today I'm working on the dirt bike, tomorrow I'm headed to the woods to tear it up for about 4 hours. I can think of absolutely nothing except dodging trees for hours, good for the mind and body. I used to like to drink after riding, but it didn't bother me last weekend.

Count me in! Wow... Almost December already....

Thanks for the Weekenders thread!
