New weekend thread! 29 30 and 1!
I can see the thanksgiving weekend thread served its purpose.
Let's refresh the thread as we refresh our desire to stay sober this day.
I had a rough day yesterday. I need to refresh and let go of unproductive feeling and thoughts.
So I have plans to brave the shopping mall in a few. Just to spend a little and make myself feel good. Maybe get some flowers for the house.
How about you?
Ken

I'm in! This weekend is special for me on this journey, as I'll hit my 30 days tomorrow. While the holidays present their own challenges to sobriety (stress much, anyone?,) it's also an incredible time to get and stay sober. Seeing my kids enjoying the wonders amazing and even better with the in clear focus. ;-)

Ditto LadyBlue! I am not one to brave the malls today. Too crazy for me. My poor sister in law recently started working at Target and had to work last night until 11 p.m. and again today starting at 11 a.m. She will be exhausted.
I am sitting here relaxing and watching Scooby Doo cartoons with my children and debating on what time to take them to visit my mother in law. Scooby brings me back to my own childhood a million years ago and memories of my brother and me sitting and watching them on a black and white television. Now that really does date me, doesn't it?
Maybe I will hit a meeting later.
Have a great day all.

Well done Claire!
Yes, Thanksgiving sucked this year, it was also my B-day yesterday. Last year was spent with my GF and her daughters (who I adore). This year I'm on my own and miss them terribly. I had no desire to drink, but it basically was a tough reminder of how happy I was last year, and how bad my life sucks this year (only bright side is I am sober). Christmas will be even worse, I doubt I'll participate.
Today I'm working on the dirt bike, tomorrow I'm headed to the woods to tear it up for about 4 hours. I can think of absolutely nothing except dodging trees for hours, good for the mind and body. I used to like to drink after riding, but it didn't bother me last weekend.
