Trying this again

Hello everyone,

I am not technically a new member, as I was first here in 2010, but I am trying again.

I am 7 days sober, and fully embracing the AA program. Although I am not going to meetings, I am reading the Big Book and Twelve Steps.

Step 1: We have admitted that we are powerless over alcohol - that our lives have become unmanageable. Done 9/22/13

Hi Heart, it is very freeing to accept that you cannot drink. No more daily struggles with will I/won't I. I realized I could have alcohol or everything else in life. Very best wishes to you Heart.

Day 9, and still going strong! No urges at all so far, even with a stressful day of work today :bbj:

I feel sooooo good!

Glad to see you back InsaneHeart. Congratulations on your 10 days.

It's a great feeling when we no longer fall back on drinking to help us cope. It really doesn't do a thing for us but create more anxiety. It took me so long to get that! Happy you are feeling good.

InsaneHeart 10-01-2013 03:49 PM

Thank you all for the encouragement!

yes,go you, insane heart,

Welcome back. I am an AA member that hardly makes meetings but I believe the program works

SR and AA are both important in my recovery.

It's great you got through a bad day at work without picking up.

Good for you

Love
Caihong

So emotionally drained right now. I'm really having a hard time dealing with people that I care about leaving me...again. So tired of it.

With that said, I do not crave a drink and I'm on Day 13. Going strong, even if my mind is weak at the moment.

One of my friends said that once she started the steps, she never felt alone.

You're doing awesome. Just keep going.

Thanks Lala,

I actually just ordered the Life Recovery Bible and Workbook, which goes through the steps with a Christian point of view. I can't wait to get started on it.

I wish it was here already, I'd be spending the weekend working on it. I'll just have to keep reading the big book until it arrives (Tuesday!).
