SHawk was on today viewing this thread, so he is still interested in what the good people on SR have to say.

Good luck to you SHawk... I hope you realize that you are not unique, many here have thought the way you are now, and believe it or not, we don't want to see you make the same mistakes we have... But this is your adventure, God bless you.

I agree with getr345 that I think that part of the Big Book needs to be seen in context.

I don't want to make totalization statements, but I do hope that we offered SHawk the right advice for him. I would hate to see him go through the kind of pain that many others of us have had. I know people with not a 'full blown' alcohol problem but they still decide to live sober anyway because it just helps simplify their lives.

You can get a few weeks and then think things are going great, it's easy to believe that you are managing things now, and that's just another reason to try it all over again. I've seen it pull down so many.

I was glad to see SHawk logged on this evening. I'm sure he will return if he needs further help and support.

I truly hope I have more to offer somebody in crisis than just the prospect of chewing their head off, but if you or anyone else needs help staying sober and thinks I might be of assistance, I'd be glad to offer it as best I can, so by all means, feel free to PM me anytime.

Sorry I didn't mean it this way. But the way you are fighting for somebody who you know maybe from 2-3 dozen posts gives me hope. I love SR! :You_Rock_
