Jo play it forward in your head if you get the wine, get drunk and then what happens?

Hi Jo, welcome to SR, we all know that feeling, I felt it today, how are you now?
Had a crappy day today and just showed my triggers aswell. I told you all were doing our house up and selling but looks like we may have to push it back a bit until end of summer because of money or lack of and we wont get our loan until then at least, if we do at all so we cant put the house up for sale until august which would be ok but the schools start in September in the new area and I didnt want my son to have to change mid year as hes going into 1st year, he will be nearly 13, so hell have to start a new school here now then change to another new school when we move. That was enough for a trigger in my head to say "aw f this" but I held out and I'm glad cause I've to bring my 10year old for a covid test tomorrow morning hes been a bit poorly last couple days, got antibiotics off doctor today by phone but he wants to send him just to be on the safe side, not looking forward to it..Its not a very nice test and he already doesnt want to go. 🙄🤒

Thinking of you and your son, OTP. Hope it’s not covid. If so, hope it’s mild. 💕

First difficult day at work for me since I decided to stop drinking.

At some point the usual idea - "this is ok because after work we drink" - came up and left me feeling slightly lost :(

I won't be drinking today.

Morning all. I didn’t buy the wine. I have to do this. My family are supporting but they have also said this is the last time. I really have to prove myself and get myself where I need to be. I just need to check in here daily and stay in touch. I just need to prove that I can get help and stick to it this time. No wavering no messing. My mental health is all over the place. I’ve referred myself for counselling, got my meds sorted and have my first AA meeting next Tuesday. I can only do daytime due to kids but at least I have one I can go too. My lovely dad is going to take me so I have support to get there

Dee74 04-20-2021 11:10 PM

I'm really pleased you did not buy the wine Jo :)

I am reaching out to two job leads currently. Makes me feel really nervous and wondering if it’s stupid to leave my current place... I’ve just had so much stress and the nebulous negative energy I’ve been feeling has made it hard to concentrate on several occasions. Then I’ve been barked at for making mistakes.

Anyway, trying not to focus on that too much right now.

I’m on day 6, and I’m feeling pretty good.

Feeling more stable emotionally, and it’s a lot easier to not sweat the small stuff.

Erratic 04-20-2021 11:26 PM

lol dee i love a wise guy xx yup i totally agree being AF will also help my fatty liver lol

Jo43 04-20-2021 11:29 PM

Thank you. I’m waiting on a call to set up my counselling and I can pick up my new meds tomorrow but I need to wait til next week to start as I’m lowering one I’m on at the moment

I’ve got up got my kids to school and am going to work. Half the battle of the day!

Willow00 04-21-2021 03:19 AM

I had a real touch and go moment today. Long story short, I was a passenger in a friend’s car and we had to wait for someone for a couple of hours, and my companion and I went into a country pub for a cold drink (the only place for miles). I had about half an hour to contemplate it before we actually went in. The AV had almost convinced me to buy wine when we got there :scared: Luckily as events unfolded, right before we went in, I found out that I unexpectedly had to drive someone else’s car, so I bought a soft drink. That was way too close for comfort.
37 days sober. By the skin of my teeth...
There was no phone reception so I couldn’t check into SR even if I had tried. The driving factor saved me today. I need some stronger tools.

Dee74 04-21-2021 03:30 AM

Yeah SR is great but I always recommend having several avenues of help Willow....whether it’s urge surfing, or CBT analysis, playing the tape through, or simply people to call on the phone.
