I'd also be really careful Be123 as they are so easy to become dependent on. It's normal to not be able to sleep in the first few days but it does happen eventually and when it does it's really proper deep sleep.

Be123 03-05-2020 04:52 AM

Thanks guys - I was advised to take them for no more than three days (nights) so tonight is last one

Sleep is normally ok for me whenever I'm not drinking, so I hope that continues

venuscat 03-05-2020 05:05 AM

I'm just nodding....feel the same way and really glad you are just taking them for a few days. :) s

Very glad that you are getting some sleep....gosh it's hard when we are that tired in the first days/weeks. s

Love to you dear RAL. :) s

I got about 5 hours last night with a little less anxiety, so for that I am thankful. Today is going to be a good day! Welcome Day 4! I am a little worried about AV over the weekend, but I am starting to make a plan for what I am going to do. It is going to be beautiful weather here in Minnesota this weekend, so I think I will go spend some time with mother nature. Have a great day everyone!

That sounds lovely dear caretaker. :)

Not sure what links Dee has already posted for you guys (tired today, sick husband and only a few hours' sleep), so here are a few you might like:

Hi all. For what it's worth thats the end of day 7. A week. And I can honestly say I haven't thought about drinking ONCE

My advice for giving up alcohol successfully - **** everything up so royally that the very idea of alcohol makes you want to find the inventor of alcohol and crucify him on a cactus

Willow00 03-05-2020 02:21 PM

Big hugs to you Suze  and Nick

Caretaker, getting out in mother nature is a great way to soothe the soul and recharge our energy. I was planning hiking this Saturday but it’s forecasted for rain and thunderstorms so I’m not sure now....

There’s a charity fundraiser I can’t get out of this weekend so I have to remain really vigilant against theAV because I know everyone will be trying to ply everyone else to drink heaps to raise money. And this group of people are big drinkers... It’s not something I can get out of so I will have to be on guard and buy lots of soft drinks :scared:

Congratulations on a week Be123! That’s fabulous :)

Yes, the inventor of alcohol huh, I wish I’d never started drinking at 15 because I drank pretty constantly to 50, and it’s damned hard to stop!
I’m on day 5 this time around. Praying that this time it sticks

Read that wrong Willow love.....why can't you get out if it?
Especially right now....if you were sick that should be plenty god reason. s xx

Well, this the end of day of Day 4 for me, it's going well and not a drop in sight. Yesterday was hard as a friend died suddenly and it would have been so easy to hit the bottle 😢 but I thought I'd be damned if I'm going to use this happening as an excuse and I didn't. After all, all I'd be left with is a hangover and the knowledge that she is still gone.
I hope everyone else is well, see you tomorrow
❤️x

venuscat 03-05-2020 03:01 PM

Oh Billy, I am so very sorry about your friend. :( s xxxxx ❤️❤️
So well done for staying strong.....I am betting you will never forget this.
You will be able to know that nothing can make you drink.
What a tribute to your friend. xx
