A Different Path Part 10 |
:flame: |
Thank you guys so much for sticking with me and the very kind and encouraging things you say to me. So often they make the difference in lifting me up on a sad or difficult day. |
This is turning out to be an odd sort of day already. I hadn’t gotten good nights’ sleeps in a few days. Last night I went to bed at 8–and started waking up periodically at 9:30–then 10:30–you get the picture! I kept feeling horrifically hot—as if I’m on the equator! But my room temperature is and continues to be 68 degrees F. And my circulation felt funny in my legs, so I decided to come snooze with my shawl on in the MOTHER OF ALL RECLINERS and put on my oxygen cannula. Then I woke up to those spectacular QLD pictures, especially your home, Dee. Thank you for sharing it! I can certainly see why you picked it! Was it tough coming back to a more urban environment? |
It’s very funny. It’s like the Stones song”You Can’t Always Get What You Want.” One night last week I woke up in the night and bitched to myself as usual. The next night I woke up and said, “It’s all good.” Then I had a good night’s sleep! Then the next couple nights I woke up bitching again. Then tonight I woke up in despair—and then I got on here and I remember that I said a few nights ago that it’s all good if day blends into night. It really is all good. :) |

just for claritys sake - that's an amenities block on the jetty - not my old house - I lived 2 blocks from the water. and my old house wasn't that nice! :dee LOL D |
How cool, PJ! I recognized Glenelg Pier right away from the photo that Suze sent me! I feel so fortunate: between Suze and my friend Julie in Sydney, I’ve got a good number of those places represented. Glenelg; The Great Ocean Rod Twelve Apostles; Cable Beach in Broome, complete with camels (with my friend in front—with a “camel-in-training” right behind her, biting at her ear!); Darwin; and Kakadu (Darwin, Kakadu, and Cable Beach were Julie’s own pictures). What fun and joy this is! How fortunate I am in my little “fort” (it occurs to me that my little Kathcave is actually like a little boy’s fort! So “fort” it is! |
In your fort Kathy, has it a moat to keep out the unwanted!:lmao |
A lady in the village had a massive tree cut down, but left around 8 ft of the trunk. Yesterday I see they’ve had an owl carved out on the trunk, it’s about 3ft high, it’s facing inwards though so only the back is showing to the road. It’s great! |

I hope you can get a nap in today Kathy. Best wishes for a good day today! |
I'm sure I'll get several naps in, SG! LOL! But I just had a couple of cups of coffee and a sandwich, so I'm sure I'll be up for quite awhile now! |
Good you share this stuff, Gilly. |
What? About my habits of eating half an Italian hoagie in the middle of the night? ;) I feel it to be my duty to keep you all apprised of the latest goings on! :glasses |
That does it, I am probably too old in this life to make it to Australia, but in my next life I am coming back as an Aussie...what a gorgeous place. One of the miracles of the internet is that people, like us, from all across the globe, can join together in one place, any time of day or night, and comfort each other, cheer each other on, and share the beauty of God's earth with each other. It is as if we lived next door to each other and can watch each other's lives each day. God bless the Gilmerites. https://i.pinimg.com/originals/0a/50...2fcba0921c.gif |
That is exactly the way I feel tonight (today), Ann! I just sent my Sydney friend, Julie--the initiator of all this Aussie love--a big email telling her about the thread and about how much joy and outpouring her pictures have inspired! |
9pm Friday here, Night night Gilmer and the Gilmerites ❤️ |
Good night, beloved Aussies! |
Oh, just before I go to bed I wanted to share who wandered across my street in front of me today, he had several girlfriends in tow :) ❤️ https://i.imgur.com/Qnrbmnll.jpg |
Oh, wow! Mr. Fancypants! |
He looked well pleased with himself I must say :) |
You guys would probably think I was insane if you could see me right now. I'm laughing like a hyena at myself calling that peacock "Mr. Fancypants!" On two hours of sleep I just think that's the most hysterical thing in the world! He even looks like he's looking into the camera! |
Night Kathy :) D |
Good night! :) |
Mr. Fancypants cracked me up too, Kathy. :lmao How wonderful to have peacocks in the neighbourhood. Goodnight, Aussies, sleep well. |
