My head's like a war zone tonight but I will not drink. The beast is growling and snarling but it's not getting fed. Can't wait until the night is over and the peace and serenity of a sober morning takes hold.

Stubbs16 05-12-2018 02:00 PM

Hang tight Rar. Youve got this. :grouphug:

My day one is dragging by. I swear, its been the longest one. Feelin blue cause my gkids wanted to come over, and I just didnt feel like having them today. Really down. Too many wasted days , years. I dont want to lose anymore. AV has taken enuff. Need to KEEP that thought /fact front and center. :a043:

Thats the right attitude! Good on you!

I know the feeling Stubbs. My kids have lost so much of me to this wretched addiction, but it's never too late to start putting things right. We've taken back control.

My Day 1 was yesterday and it seems my clocks barely moved. One of the best things I experienced with those sober days what that time became normal again. This morning time moved a little faster, but now it's just dragging by. I didn't expect to feel this bad. I only drank for (I think) 9 days with 3 sober days in between. I think I'm feeling worse because I'm so disappointed in myself. I want my 112 days back. :c002:

You'll get them back Rar and in time you can look back on right now as part of your journey to permanent sobriety. It isn't just for other people it is for YOU. Have faith that time is a great healer and day by day you will again feel stronger.
Hugs to everyone struggling tonight. To quote my beautiful friends in the fellowship this too shall pass :grouphug:

I know love....but something I found out with my last relapse was that I did in fact feel way worse when I detoxed. Got a bit of a clue how this is a progressive disease....I am thick...takes me years to get it....it gets worse it gets harder it gets scarier.....that's why we can't drink anymore. We ran out of drink cards honey. That simple....we are done. Time for other more wonderful and healthy pursuits. ♥♥
