Good stuff MITA

Suze, I have a lot of '....ikeets; birds here. They herd themselves into the trees at dawn and dusk. Dozens- I love 'em.
Monday here- have a safe and peaceful rest of Easter Marchlings.

Hey guys!!

Checking in after what feels like a really long day. We had lunch-dinner (linner??) at DH's parents and I don't know if it's because I'm not used to having big family meals (with it just being the girls and I for so long) or if it's because they are just really difficult people but it's a struggle to be there and to play nice. Lol. Anyways home now and grateful to be sober. Need to hold on to this feeling through the days ahead.

Purplrks - love you and glad you're here :grouphug:

Well off to make a tea and read through some of the threads here

Night!

Falling space junk alert!

I’m sitting here tracking the projected fall of the Chinese space station Tiangong. A hunk of metal the size of a school bus should be coming down in the next hour or two. If you’re in Middle East or Asia right now, you may want to put on a helmet and watch the fireworks in the sky!

Don’t worry....it will break apart and burn up into tiny bits.

It’s over Sudan now. Moves so fast! Kind of fun to watch!

Pelagic263 04-01-2018 04:34 PM

Thanks for posting those poems MITA. My laptop is still not cooperating. It may be time for a new one.

I hope everyone had a good Easter. And a good Monday down under! Stay well and stay sober.

LillianGish 04-01-2018 05:04 PM

I LOVED the poems! Thank you. :)

Ospreys are one of my favorites too Pelagic.

Coincidently we just heard a hooded oriole outside. They are so beautiful!

I picture a Maggie greeting the dawn...such a pretty mental picture.

Dee74 04-01-2018 05:30 PM

I'm not sure what happened either Pel....I don't do obtuse as well as I used to.

but no backing out Pelagic - there's nothing for us back the way we came...keep moving forward :)

The space bus came down in the Pacific Ocean, northwest of Tahiti. Whew!

You can take off those helmets now. :)

Nighty nite friends. Hope Easter was good to you!

Good to see you Sam!!

Getting ready to call it a day here as well.

Had some of that low-level anxiety creep in today. I wish I knew what causes that - things were no different today than the last few days. It's just a general kind of uncomfortableness with the way things are - a little too much time spent thinking about the past and worrying about the future (both pointless, I know). Add in a sprinkle of existential angst and it adds up to something that would normally have me indulging. I made it through okay, but I am very tired. The low-level anxiety just. wears. me. out. I'm all ears regarding anyone else's experience and suggestions.

Looking forward to getting some sleep and having a better go of it tomorrow.

Sweet dreams to those here - hope the Australians are having a good Monday :)

Morning!

Love all the poems. Thanks for sharing.

MITA - I hear you on the past/future stuff. Working hard to remain in the present because it’s just too easy to get lost in all the thoughts.

Well off to work. Grateful to be hangover free.

Be back tonight.

Pelagic263 04-02-2018 03:38 AM

Thanks, Dee. I've had such mixed success in recovery that I sometimes give up on it. I want to get past that, and my lifelong defeatism as well.

I remember when the original Spacelab crashed in Australia. Apparently they have a little museum there now?

Long day on the road for me. Not looking forward to that but I'll stay positive and try to check in later.

Wishing you all a good day.

Purplrks3647 04-02-2018 05:47 AM

I'll sign up for another sober day as well.....can't thank you all enough for being here! :grouphug:

Welcome Fradley :)

ManInTheArena 04-02-2018 07:04 AM

Good morning and Happy Monday?!

I'm a little tired still, but gotta get up and get moving.

Pelagic, I didn't quite get what you meant when you first posted - glad you are sticking around, though :)

Hey all! sorry for the late check in.

MITA - the best thing I have found when I start having anxiety issues is to get out of my head. If you come on here, post to a bunch of new comers. If you want to stay at your computer, make a donation to a worthy cause. If you are out - help someone with their groceries (buy their groceries if it strikes you to do so). Those things help me to stop focusing on me and my issues and focus on others.

Have I mentioned lately that my ex is a spineless piece of - oh never mind. I'll just keep praying for him. It bothers me that he won't answer his son's phone calls from jail because he is afraid Nathan will talk him into getting him out. Grow a pair and tell him no. Then, you can talk to him. There is a reason he is my ex.

Have an awesome day everyone.

Oh how I love you.

And PJ, just wow. Jealous to the max. I love lorikeets.

Love all of you. :grouphug:

venuscat 04-02-2018 10:46 AM

(((Bobbie))) ❤️

I will pray for him with you....sounds like he needs all of the help he can get.
Is that mean? Honestly, yes, answer the bloody phone and tell him....

I have lots of love and prayers for Nathan honey. Lots. I so hope he uses this chance to change things. ❤️

Hello all,

A client didn't quite lie to me today, but spread a particularly thick layer of BS on his excuse for non-payment of an invoice he promised would be paid before Easter.

Old me would have instantly reacted with a snarky response. Sober me just accepts it and offers him only my pity for whatever is causing him to behave like this.

Mrs F spent 90% of some cash we had specifically ring-fenced to pay a bill, and is now grumpy we can't pay the bill. Hmmm? Can't quite see the consistency in this.

I have a huge project to finish for a major client tomorrow. The work I have already done is excellent, creative and exactly what they want and need. But despite >1000 days sober, my natural reaction is to tell myself I am an imposter and a fraud.

Sometimes quickly, sometimes slowly we get better.

All of the above reminds me how far I have come - and to take nothing for granted.

Grateful to be going to bed sober today.

Go well friends,

Fradley

Bobbieka 04-02-2018 01:09 PM

Sweet dreams, Fradley!

Thanks for the prayers, Suze. Yes, he needs all he can get. And thank you so much, all of you, for the continued prayers for Nathan. I'm telling you, if it comes down to prayers, this kid is going to come out the Pope.
