Thank you Dee! It’s a cloudy, wild, soon-to be stormy Spring Saturday in Texas and I can’t express how glad I am to be waking up sober. I feel so much better after a full night’s sleep. My mother has been through so much pain and suffering the past couple of weeks. But she still smiles when I walk into her room at the rehab place. She is struggling but she has a great attitude. She sees her favorite nurse’s aide and laughs with her. It’s a good sign. She’s got a good chance of getting better. I thank God for this opportunity to help her get stronger. I couldn’t do it drinking—I would disappear into myself. Today I rest and mess around at home. House is a wreck but it’ll clean up. Might make a little food. Maybe make a lot. :) Thank you for listening, and I wish you a great day. Love you Kris ! And all my 24s. A fine sober day. Xxx Red |
Thanks, Dee! :) Love to you Red! |

“Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goal.” - Henry Ford 6:20am in Alberta, it's going to be a darn good day not to drink! No green beer for me, I'll have 24 more AF hours please, and thanks! Happy St Patrick's Day! Thanks for the new thread Dee! |
If anyone is struggling with past actions, shame or regrets - if we can forgive others easily, we should give that same love to ourselves. who we are now - or who we are aiming to be - is the thing. The past is gone - it cannot be changed. But today is a blank page - it would be a shame to miss filling that in cos we were still stuck on yesterday :grouphug: D |
Getting my coffee and heading out to walk the dogs, walking two dogs that weigh over 220 each is always fun. My wife walks the little one who's only 130. In for 24 hours sober. |

Hope everyone has a good sober St Pats day. Prayers to you and your mom RBJ. I sorry you and your kids were abused Kenton. I understand the anger and protective Mamas Bear thing but please don't let someone elses vileness rent too much space in your head for too long, ok? Congrats to all who post here today and to those celebrating milestones :You_Rock_ D |

An Irish priest is driving down to New York and gets stopped for speeding in Connecticut. The state trooper smells alcohol on the priest's breath and then sees an empty wine bottle on the floor of the car. He says, "Sir, have you been drinking?" "Just water," says the priest. The trooper says, "Then why do I smell wine?" The priest looks at the bottle and says, "Good Lord! He's done it again!" |
24 more please. |
