ahhh St patrick's day, one of my least favorite "holidays". I've never really understood the hype. Luckily enough, I'm off today and heading into yoga with some friends. Weaverbird, your post in the last thread really spoke to me. I'm glad you are able to share that with everyone and happy to hear your story. I too have been verbally abusive while drinking, and over stepping boundaries making others uncomfortable . It's not who you are inside. A lot of people always say "the truth comes out when you drink". I don't think i agree with that, and I don't think people are their "true selves" when they drink either. Alcohol will definitely give you dutch courage but I've been drinking long enough to know that the drunk me is crazy, irrational, rule breaking and miserable. That's not who I am deep down. I want to learn who I am again and my journey to be true to myself. 24 please for day 2. |

Hello wonderful crew. I'm already struggling today to keep the urge to drink silenced, but I stay strong knowing you all are too. RBJ, I'm sorry about your mom (don't know the whole story) but so glad you are seeing happy and hopeful moments with her. Dee, also appreciate your post! You're right - today IS a blank page and I choose to fill it with the happiness that can be here without blurring it out by alcohol. Thank you all.
