LOL
I should have just said I was glad you were happy instead of posting a smiley that didn't make sense on a page on it's own. Hence the deleted posts. Keep smiling Suze.

venuscat 09-15-2016 05:09 PM

A while ago, I was checking how some stuff would look in preview, and the next thing I knew it had posted....and I was not even in the thread I wanted to post in. So I edited it, and it posted again....it was like something out of the Twilight Zone.

These things are sent to keep us humble. ;)

Love you aussie ~ and thank you. ♥

LOL - that seems like something I would do :D

Mark1014 09-16-2016 10:21 AM

Hi Suze,

So nice to see your enthusiasm building for your adventure. When will you be making your pass through the southeast? Should be less muggy by the time you arrive.....I hope so anyway. :)

venuscat 09-16-2016 04:22 PM

I sent you a PM Mark ~ still very keen to be able to see you if possible love.

So, if you all knew about me and Geography (or my extremely impressive lack of Geographical skills)....boy would you laugh. You should have heard me planning where I'll be when.....the conversation went a bit like: "So I will be in NY, go across to Ohio, down to Nashville, Alabama, Atlanta, across and up, West Virginia, etc....back up to Maryland, Boston, NY....maybe further up if I can possibly meet Ann and Anna...." folllowed by "Does that make sense?" to which Goat replied something like "Errrr".....

So that's me. Hopefully God will be on my side; I may need a bit of guidance.

Mark1014 09-16-2016 05:41 PM

Wow Suze, you've got quite the aggressive agenda! You may find the uber app to be useful at times. :)

venuscat 09-16-2016 05:46 PM

Hmmm....not a chance Mark. Uber has no cameras (which scares the living daylights out of me)....it is going to be pretty much buses, trains, planes and maybe the odd taxi.

venuscat 09-16-2016 07:05 PM

And that's only half of my agenda by the way.... :)

Finishing off the trip with two weeks in Cali. Based In SF. You should see the gorgeous bed and breakfast I booked....it's called Petite Auberge if you want to look it up. :)

One of my favorite movies is "Planes, Trains and Automobiles". Your itinerary reminds me of my uncle (the one who ate chocolate Easter egg plus roast beef interchangeably and who planned to stuff his cocker spaniel in two pieces, with the head coming out in the dining room and the rear end coming out in the ladies powder room).:dee His objective was to visit each state in the Union. He'd get to the border have his photo taken and be off to the next state. There's a place called "Four Corners" where Arizona, New Mexico, Utah and Colorado meet. If you stand there you can get four at one clip. Worth a try?

Bill

Mark1014 09-16-2016 07:22 PM

Hmmmm, no PM in my inbox. Perhaps lost in cyberspace.:herewego

venuscat 09-16-2016 11:37 PM

I must have closed the tab without hitting send Mark....oops....I will re-write it.

Then you're giving up your plan to spend the night in Alcatraz?:dee:a043:

Bill.

Maryland always has room for you!! :)

LillianGish 09-17-2016 11:40 AM

I just looked up Petite Auberge ~ how wonderful it looks! I can TOTALLY see you staying there. Seems like a lovely place to have a cup of tea in the afternoon, reading some poetry.

I stayed in that area once and remember everywhere I wanted to walk seemed to be uphill....LOL! How can that be?

So excited for you Suze!

It could not be unless you stayed uphill indefinitely. That's what you try for with sobriety. To stay uphill indefinitely. No cable cars to take you back up. You've got to get out and hike it. With time you get less spherical so you don't roll back down so often. The object is to become a cube. :c011:

W.

wpainterw 09-17-2016 04:31 PM

P.S. Of course when you get to be a geezer like me people may think you're "square". They're wrong. With sobriety you get to be a cube. A big, heavy cube! And if I ever start to roll, watch out below!

W.

:) Thank you!

I am terrible ~ I am thinking of you every day and not communicating. Of course I want to see you love, very much, and I am going to be there...we need to talk. :) ♥

There is NOTHING square about you Bill. :) ♥

And yes, thinking that the Petite Auberge might be more my style than Alcatraz. Especially these days; we deserve to celebrate ourselves a little yes? And it will be my 2-year anniversary on Oct 27. :)

Gilmer 09-17-2016 05:14 PM

Speaking of needing to talk, I was just visiting my Aussie tenant.

I have been schooled.

What we call coffee here in the States is apparently not fit for Aussies, who have a far more sophisticated palate.

I asked, "What about Starbucks (the pride of America)?"

Derision: "No way!"

I am aware that you yourself possess a special gourmet coffeemaker.

My pathetic coffee may present a problem!

But there is hope: apparently there is a shop in the next town called King St. Coffee that my Aussies will deign to enter.

I guess that's where we'll have to go when you're in town!

Kris47 09-17-2016 05:20 PM

I'm so excited for all of you meeting up!

venuscat 09-17-2016 05:38 PM

:) Gilmer love, I hear about this all of the time, but I think it's one of those things that people just like to talk about....coffee beans are coffee beans, they are everywhere....roast, grind, compress, put in machine and pour carefully....I'm betting we can find some great coffee love. :)

And I only drink two cups a day anyway! LOL!

Wish I could see you too Kris.

Gilmer 09-17-2016 05:46 PM

I'll drink any coffee of any caliber, no matter how old and burnt (I draw the line at floating mold. :scared:). My only request: I like to put a few ice cubes in so I can drink it right down. Not iced coffee--just a couple notches higher than lukewarm.

venuscat 09-17-2016 05:48 PM

My coffee machine is available there love....so lots of people must make espresso.

Gilmer 09-17-2016 06:08 PM

Maybe I'll buy one then sell it on EBay as soon as you leave! :lmao

Soberpotamus 09-17-2016 06:12 PM

Coffee!! Suze, I make French press in a glass carafe. Plain and simple. It is strong and slightly oily, a little gritty, with a tiny bit of foam at the top. Splash of half n half. And that's it. I drink two large cups of it and I'm done for the day.

No Starbucks necessary. :)

I started out drinking McDonald's coffee with yucky creamer, lol. I must've been 26-27. It took me about ten years to make a decent cup. :)

But ... like Gilmer, if necessary, I will drink any coffee I can get my hands on. And yeah, no mold.

wpainterw 09-17-2016 07:49 PM

Thanks, Suze. You wrote "There is NOTHING square about you Bill." I agree. Rather I'm a cube. And that's not "cool". Too old to be "hot". Cube, room temperature. I hope that at least you're an octahedron. Aspire to be a cube, like me and then you won't roll downhill and have to hike all the way up. Choose your temperature. Cool or hot. Just not lukewarm.
As for coffee. Alcoholics who used to be wine snobs can become coffee snobs. Recently a visiting friend brought us some "creme brulee" coffee. Haven't tried it yet. Scared to. I agree that mold is distasteful, except in Stilton and Gruyere cheese, Gorgonzola di Alpi! (am a cheese snob, dog snob, etc.). Penicillin.
