Hey Suze! All these beautiful photos! Can you or someone else on this incredible thread tell me how to get my photos in the thread like you do? It says when I hit the "insert image" icon that I have to supply the url for my photo, like http://. My photos don't seem to have an url or I can't figure it out They are just my photos collected in my mac computer and when I want to Email them I just send them as an attachment,
So can you walk me through what you do, from the time you take the photo to the time you post it on the fabulous Venuscat thread? As Jimmy Durante used to say, "I wanna git into de act!" Help me please! I won't drink over this but I'll have sleeping problems. The dog's no help. He can't or won't figure it out!

Hi Bill

you can attach photos to a post
I assume the process is the same for a Mac as for a PC

attachments........

you need to be in full reply mode, not quick reply...

if you scroll down your page you'll see an 'attach files' box...then a 'manage attachments' button...

hit the button -

a new window should open - hit the browse button to find the file on your Mac - hit the upload button to upload the image to SR...

assuming your pic is within the prescribed limits of size (you'll see them there when you upload) all should be well

Hi Bill. ...it seems that the photo editor recommended here is the best way to import photos from your computer:

TinyPic - Free Image Hosting, Photo Sharing & Video Hosting

LOL ~ snap ~ so I should have added that you have more size options with Tiny Pic.

..or as Suze suggests, you can upload your pic to a picture sharing site which save your pic there and will give you a url to use:
http:// www....etc

This link explains that option:

Thanks Suze and Dee:
I'm having no luck. Had to go to Tinypic since my photo needed to be resized. Tinypic refused to upload the photo unless I filled in a blank with a thing I had to reproduce to make sure I was legit.and was not scamming. I tried to do this twice and was consistently rejected as having submitted an invalid response. So Tinypic is out for me but I may try another free resizing website, kindly suggested by another member, to see whether they can help. But I must rest now, watch TV, pet the dog.
Honestly I'm upset and very frustrated. My photo means a lot to me. A lot. Can't or won't explain at this point. Too upset.
One thing I know. It seems obvious that the software on SoberRecovery's website is set up so no one who is not completely sober can operate it and even then it may endanger relapse for newcomers. I am thankful that I have so much sobriety that my main risk now is not drinking but depression and sleepless nights. Signing off. End of story.

Sadly

Bill

I'm sorry you're having trouble with it Bill but seems to me your issue is TinyPics captcha system not SR's software.

Captcha can be tricky for some of us. There is an option for having the captcha letters expressed vocally.

From Bill ~ ♥

"...the lilies. Case Blanca, said to be among the most beautiful and famous lilies resembling those on manuscripts and paintings of the middle ages and renaissance. They have been thought to have great spiritual and numinous significance."

"To me these lilies represent love and salvation, eternal forgiveness."

♥ Thank you dearest Bill ~ so very beautiful.

Beautiful lilies! I am fond of the name Lily, as it was my mother's mother's name and is the name of one of my cats.

Suze, thanks for sharing the pictures.

Oh Venus - I am so clueless sometimes. I completely missed this thread and until 15 minutes ago, had no idea what you have been going through.

And I feel very bad about that. I'm so so sorry. You've been there for me so many times and gosh....

I am so relieved you don't have cancer. And reading the outpouring of love on your thread to me, says you have lots of family.

Much love to you sista ~ you are in my thoughts.

Lillian Gish - one of my favorite actresses! I remember her in "The Wind" where she wore a big floppy hat which kept being blown about by The Wind!

Welcome to the Venuscat thread!
