I looked it up. Seems you can use water, or milk if you prefer a creamier texture. |
Got nothing but good ideas for you, potamus. Can't seem to get conditions right for sleep tonight. Too warm in here. |
Thanks, V. <3 Avocados blend nicely into many smoothies. They have a velvety texture that works well in many combinations. But, I think Greek yogurt, or milk, or a milky liquid, would thin it down nicely. You can google smoothie concoctions galore, and avocado makes them more palatable. Have a good night. I'm up too late tonight. |
I'm up late too, it seems I'm back to my old night owl ways of sleeping late naturally. Trach, hopefully you'll get the temp adjusted soon and fall asleep. Thanks for being there tonight, y'all. Sometimes the loneliness sneaks up on me. And I'm a bit stir-crazy lately. I need to get outside soon. I'll probably attempt driving soon. My neck isn't so stiff anymore. Well, not really the neck, but my facial muscles weren't too happy when I moved quickly to turn my head. All the muscles in the side of the face were disturbed and had to reattach. Weird, huh. |
I'm thinking of blending frozen broccoli florets with cheddar cheese sauce/soup. The Vitamix should get the broc blended well, I'd think. |
As long as it doesn't leave little broccoli filaments that might irritate your mouth... |
Hi, SP- I'm glad you are healing! You sound better. OK, have to jump in on the food...what about cream cheese, neufchatel or boursin cheese with the mashed potatoes? Creamy, plus fat and calories :) |
Dharma, great idea. :) That would work! |
Washing pajamas and lounge clothes today. If I feel up to it, I'm going to wash bed linens and blankets. That's going to be a massive chore. I've texted Brian a list of food items. He is a notoriously terrible shopper. It's a nightmare. I receive multiple calls and texts while he is there because he doesn't want to do it, so he forces it on me anyway. If you've never experienced this kind of hell, it's hard to understand. |
The laundry is almost finished. One duvet left to dry. The challenge will be to remove the sheets currently on the bed, and then to put down the fresh ones. It's a struggle, so I'm guessing it's going to be pretty difficult to do with this jaw issue holding me back. I can't remember Brian ever removing or replacing bed sheets the entire four years we've been married. He is almost useless. I will have a very detailed prenuptial if I ever consider marriage again. |
Be careful, Potamus. I always struggle with the corners of the fitted sheets. |
OK, I'm intrigued. How in the world do sheets defeat you? |
Trach, I'm not supposed to bend over or lift/pull things right now. Are you aware that I had major surgery? Have you ever made up a bed? It requires a lot of force to get the fourth corner of a fitted sheet tucked under a mattress. |
Leigh, I was able to get three corners tucked, not the fourth. He will have to do it. The sheets are on, pillowcases too. Still washing the comforter and drying the duvet cover. I did get my heavy cotton blanket on the bed, so there's cover in the meantime. |
And I will probably be taking pain meds soon. My facial muscles and jaw aren't happy. |
I set up my bed desk. Now I've got the iPad paired with the wireless keyboard and can actually type again. This should be tons better than pecking. I've got all my reference books in here by the bed as well. I might bring my weather radio in here to have background noise while I study and type. |
SP, as usual you are moving forward. Good for you for getting laundry done and changing the bed. I agree that bed-making would be very difficult for you when you shouldn't be bending and straining. I like the idea of broccoli cheese soup. You are becoming very inventive. Do I see a cook-book being published by you in the future?:) |
Anna, I hadn't thought of compiling jaw surgery recipes. :) I've mostly been borrowing ideas from others. Did you know I had a food blog for a while? It was actually quite inventive -- I was using raw foods to create recipes and dishes, and sometimes re-creating standard recipes with the raw foods, or attempting to, anyway. :) It was fun! I enjoyed plating the food and taking photos, and of course, the writing. I lost interest after about a year. Lol. |
