DD sounds like things with your brother have improved somewhat. Is your mom enjoying being a grandma? It's good you get to stay in Philly near family. Babies are cute, mum til they are depriving you of sleep night after night and screaming at a decibel level that would be designates as torture by the UN!! Enjoy the small doses you have of your niece and maybe when she is a little older, you can offer your bro & SIL the occasional night of 8 hours sleep by taking her overnight from time to time.

North, Shoes, Duff any of Y'All got time for a check in??

Gilmer 06-28-2015 05:01 AM

Thank you, everyone. I got 12 1/2 hours sleep last night! I let myself wake up naturally instead of setting the alarm.

Sass, I hope the doctor helps you once and for all!

Saskia 06-28-2015 05:25 AM

Gilmer, so happy to hear you had a good night's sleep! :grouphug:

tootsl1 06-29-2015 12:32 AM

Oh man, six hours sleep sounds like luxury just now. My body is in 'make hay while the sun shines' mode and doesn't want to sleep more than a few hours. In six months time when it's dark, I will feel like hibernating!!

Marcher13 06-29-2015 04:16 AM

Hi everyone. Congrats DD on your little niece. Gilmer take a bow, you dun good girl!

I spent Saturday & Sunday sick but I think I killed the cold. Today we bought a little black car, I'd rather it wasn't black but it was a very good deal. Not a ute Ken, one of these ...

trachemys 06-29-2015 07:09 AM

A little Suzuki?

Saskia 06-29-2015 08:25 AM

Hmmm, Marcher - do we now call you "The Cold Slayer"?

Gilmer 06-29-2015 12:56 PM

I had the first session of physical therapy for my neck today. First, my shoulders needed a lot of treatment because they were super tight. Then I had to do a bunch of exercises to strengthen my neck and arms (I've never had good upper body strength).

I did those for about 45 minutes--and finally she had me get up on the table, put a cold compress around my shoulders, then just lie back for 15 minutes.

I felt like I was in paradise! :)

I can't wait to go there again on Thursday! :)

Saskia 06-29-2015 01:56 PM

Sounds good, Gilmer :-)

Gilmer 06-29-2015 01:58 PM

How did the doctor's visit go, Sass?

Saskia 06-29-2015 02:56 PM

Well, it was fine - he verified that it's what I thought it was and as of this morning my throat no longer hurts :-). Energy level not yet normal but making progress. I'm hoping to reschedule trip for early September - hopefully after the worst of the heat and before hurricane season gears up .... at least I hope so!

Gilmer 06-29-2015 02:58 PM

Sounds good! That will be better than August for me.

Marcher13 06-29-2015 04:21 PM

Good morning Marchers :) The prize goes to Trachy for guessing Suzuki Swift on the photo!

Gilmer that sounded like a great experience yesterday, I hope you continue to make good progress. Sass glad to hear that things are looking up for you, interesting that you are planning around "hurricane" season. The north of Australia has cyclones in summer but, weirdly enough, the meteorologists are talking about one now in the middle of winter! Dee, have you heard about it?

Hope everyone is doing well, have a good day.

trachemys 06-29-2015 04:31 PM

I knew the Suzuki logo as I had a couple of Suzuki dirt bikes. My first was a beast. The first day I had it, I was sitting, revving, and the owner was waving NO NO NO. I let the clutch out and that bike stood straight up. Literally.

I found a balance at 185 CC. While that bike tried to kill me a couple of times it was not so vicious.

Dee74 06-29-2015 04:34 PM

a cyclone is news to me Marcher? :)

I looked it up - media says a moderate chance of one forming in the pacific region off the north Qld coast but there's no official warnings from the BoM yet :)

Thank goodness for the sense of a Northerner! Dee Sydney ABC must be without a story today as they spent some time talking about this and how it had never previously occurred in July.

Dee74 06-29-2015 06:00 PM

It's not unprecedented - I can remember one in my lifetime - but it's blue cloudless skies here, and I think it'll stay that way :)

Drumroll, please:

This is my 15,000th post!

:) :) :) :) :)

Saskia 06-30-2015 03:12 AM

Wow, Gilmer - congrats! Or is that condolences ... Do you have any fingers left? :lmao

Gilmer 06-30-2015 03:18 AM

Yes, but I'm afraid my brain is shot to hell! :fright:

trachemys 06-30-2015 03:33 AM

Your counter says 15,002.

Gilmer 06-30-2015 03:42 AM

Here at Marchers' was the actual 15,000. I've posted three times since then.

Dee74 06-30-2015 03:42 AM

tootsl1 06-30-2015 03:09 PM

Gilmer, that is quite a lot of MacDs coffees involved in those posts!!!

Enjoy the new car Marcher I hope the cyclone is all bluster!

Sass glad you are beginning to feel better.

I've just heard in the last hour that my MIL has had a stroke and is in hospital. I don't know the severity of it, they are going to be doing tests tomorrow. She is a believer, so if you can send a prayer heavenwards for her it would be appreciated.
I will go to see her once she is up for visitors.
