Hello my fellow Marchers!

I'm rather proud of myself today. Things didn't start out the way I had wanted them too but instead of procrastinating, I got myself ready to go out and went and ran errands. Got a nice new haircut, went to the grocery store and the craft store. Chatted with my mom on the phone and made it home before the sky opened up.

I'm used to having things being just so. Any kink in the plan would make me blow off responsibilities or activities because things didn't go according to plan. But life doesn't go as planned, does it?

So, sitting here with my tea and my kitties about to catch up on the Marchers thread. I hope everyone is well.

I hope everything goes well for you, MrFixit.

I'm sending positive healing thoughts to you.

Hoping everything went well with the eye Mr F.

Heading home early tonight. I got "stuff" to do. Mostly goof off stuff actually for one of my hobbies.

Boobeary 04-22-2014 06:00 PM

Aarry,
Thanks for reminding me that I need to call my mom too. I'm way overdue!

Craft store? What are you making? :)

Aarryckha 04-22-2014 06:19 PM

Going to take a cake decorating class. I was scoping out how much the supplies were going to cost me. It's not too bad so I'm going to sign up!

Boobeary 04-22-2014 07:00 PM

Oh, that's right! I remember you saying you wanted to do that. Glad you're pursuing it. :)

Boobeary 04-22-2014 07:01 PM

Bim, thanks for posting the video of the cat attack. Gave me a good chuckle. :)

'Night everyone.

calichris 04-22-2014 09:51 PM

Good night Marchers. I have been up since 5:30am and have managed to exhaust myself which was my goal here on my business trip. Just got done with an 11 hour day at work, SR meeting, 2 hours of tennis, boy am I tired! Good night all thinking of you all. Love and hugs, Chris

Oh my friends.

The schedule has remained so full. I leave town for the presentation in two days. No materials yet. Take one guess... The printer.

Dee74 04-22-2014 10:18 PM

Best wishes Ilya - hope you can work around the problems :)

Morning all from England. I've found us again.

Got through the 'cheese club' that friends had been organising at a local pub with relative ease. It's a great concept actually. Each month, a group of interested people meet to discuss and taste 'cheese'. Last night was the first so we had a range of English cheeses to try. The contrast between a packaged and rubbery Red Leicester with a Sparkenhoe Red Leicester was astounding. Not sure what I thought to the Stinking Bishop but, my goodness, it smelt of wet socks.

Next month, Italian cheeses...

Well done to all that are still here. Pleased to here that Chris and Aary have had good days. A day working around here followed by an evening of cricket practice for me. Nice.

Hey everyone,

I just noticed, since slipping day 28, now back at day 16, how different things are this time. I just don't desire alcohol so much anymore. I think last time I was just like, I don't know, still a drinker just not drinking. This time I'm just happy and content. I still have the occasional brain tweak "you used to drink now"... and I'm still a day at a time ... but it's getting quieter and softer and less immediate now.

Does that mean I'm "better"? No of course not. There are still triggers and I realise there is alot of work to do to find the new/old me. The non-drinking me. But at least since I came here there is now a little peace and quiet in my head. At least enough for me to think about other things, and therefore starting working on just me, not non-drinking me, just me.

So as I have this quiet moment I wanted to thank the Marchers so much for all your help and support. As there is no way I'd be in this space, thinking positively, without you.
