Yes Bob, it's a Hibiscus flower. They do quite well in hotter areas of Australia. Every second house used to have them just about, where I grew up in Queensland, next to the sea. I just always think of them as happy flowers, Island holidays...ha! And I think Leshar likes hot pink, so yeah...seemed appropriate. Funny you saw one...must have been sending my positive vibes all the way over there! Do we need to go on a recruiting drive for some males, Bob...apart from Dee, that is. Maybe we need a "Class of July", recruiting now, thread?? |
Nah, I'm very happy with the people that hang out in the class. I am definitely not complaining about being the only guy. :) |
Hi lovelies :wavey: I had to take my ipad into work now we have wifi to check in on you on my lunch break Leshar  you sound a lot better love xx See all this love in the room , from lovely Crois , Dee and Bob ;-) You will NEVER be alone again . Lol I've snuck into the chapel - for a brief moment I'm sure i felt the pillars crumbling and lightening out the corner of my eye! It's been a Long time since I've prayed to god . But i feel a sense of peace and serenity in here ( and a bit of naughtiness ) cos its a good hiding place ...muhahaha . ;-) xx |

Holy crap ! I cant post pictures for shittt ...sorry guys better do an exorcist and turn your heads 360 degrees ! Better be offski before they send out a search party ...hehehe xxxx |
:lmao D |
Too cute Snoozy. I had to lie my iPad flat on the sofa then stand up and move around to read it. But worth the effort. :* |
Hahahaha Crois ;-)))) xx |
Oh, Snoozy, you darling girl! You are so sweet, and thoughtful. I absolutely love the prayer. I copied it, and rotated it, and this picture now graces my ipad as my screensaver. You have the loveliest handwriting! I had to laugh about us doing an "Exorcist" routine, too funny! I'm like you, not religious, but there is something soothing about being in a holy place like a church, and I have a wonderful sense memory of the smell of incense lingering about many churches. I love to visit churches when I travel and even genuflect like a good Catholic! Although, somewhat like you, I ponder if I might receive a smite from above for my lapsed Catholic ways! Oh, you guys are the best, I feel like this place is such a safe haven to share and be supported, support where I may. Croissant, you're right, I do love hot pink! And I especially love the hibiscus. Is this in your garden? I do feel for you regarding your grief and sadness about the loss of your beloved step mother. It is all so raw for you. It does sound as though you're managing well though, given all that is going on in your life at present. My husband died 7 years ago, this past February. You're right, and Bob too, the emotions arise unexpectedly sometimes, I could be sad or happy at the time, it doesn't matter. What I do know, is that I complicated my healing all these years by drinking over my loss. I can't undo that, no point in lamenting the past. The best we can do is to remain mindful, be present, and create new healthy supports. Like you guys! I do feel blessed that you are in my life! Oh Bob, you're a card! I'm still chuckling over the idea of the game telling you you're overweight. How's the speedo diet going?! Seriously, yoga and meditation are marvellous and do help with inner and outer balance. I'm feeling much better today. I'm seeing a pattern. Saturdays alone seriously suck, for some reason, over and above any other day, so I need to plan around this and do things which may distract me of a Saturday! Thanks again, sweet Snoozy, you're a darlin' girl. (Ever thought about stand up!) |
1 Attachment(s) You must be south of the equator.lol Here it is straight up. |
Aww, Bob, thanks! |
You are very welcome, Leshar. :) Just a couple words about religion. I'm not big on "organized religion" but I do have a personal relationship with the Lord. And I have accepted that I can't do it alone. My wife prayed everyday for wisdom and strength for me to not waste my life drinking. Devine intervention or not or like Forrest Gump says, a little of both. But, here I am. :) It's a beautiful Sunday here, sunshine abounds. I plan to grill a few steaks later. No..no shrimp on the Barbie my Aussie friends. ;) I hope all my July friends are doing great this fine day/night. |
Bob, I'm with you on the matter of organized religion. As I grow on this journey, I have come to feel the presence, just in the last couple of weeks, of a "Spirit", an inner guide who is beautiful and serene, and she has just been waiting for me to find her. I do find this soothing. I don't know what to make of it all, is this a sort of Higher Power? Whatever it is, from where ever it/she came, I do feel that I am able to "speak" to this entity, and be guided to do the right thing. I know when I feel down, and I'm coming to realize this more as time goes on, that I must pay more attention to my spirit guide and just be quiet in the knowledge that I am never truly alone. Bob, me bro', it's a beautiful sunshiney day here too. Sounds like a wonderful day to bbq, and I for one, am so glad that you are indeed here! |
Hope you got outside for a while, Leshar. I grilled a couple steaks over charcoal along with some nice big portabella mushroom caps, potato salad and summer squash. I've been polyurathaning my daughter's bedroom floor all day. I'm on about 4 coats now. In a little while I'll be going on a sunset walk with my dog. Then maybe some exercise on that wacky Wii machine. ;) I'll check in a little later and see how everybody is doing.XXX |
Hi everyone, Bob, I just ate dinner, but you made me hungry all over again!! Your dinner sounds yummy. It's only 8:15pm here, but I am ready for bed. Been so tired all weekend. Not complaining though :) It was a beautiful day here, too, so we spent some time outside playing with our daughter. Don't think it is going to be nice again until next weekend :( Hope everyone is doing well tonight. Just wanted to say Hi. Haven't had any cravings or desire to drink. Wish it could always be like this! |
Wow...I'm so happy for you Leshar and thanks for your kind words on grieving....wow, you and me both on 7 years. 7 years for me since my old relationship ended that I've mentioned. And forgot, thanks for the invite to Canada. Quiet night tonight, I'll post more tomorrow. Today was my last day at work. I'm off to go have q quiet dinner and start to peel off the layers of that place. I feel the same way about being religious guys. Long story. More to share another time. |

It's getting warmer here now on this side of the globe. So some people may not post all that much when the weather gets better. I'll still be checking in often. :) |
I post rain , hail ' n shine Bob lol xxx |
Hi folks, I'm feeling under the weather today. Miserable cold started last night. I hardly ever get colds. Just going to lay low today and hope I'm ok enough tomorrow as I have a class. Weird, I'm watching "Damages" and they're forever chugging scotch. Instant thought of oh, a hot toddy would be good for my cold. How strange is that! I've no desire to go there, but I guess old memories about drinking will take time to extinguish. |
Hey Leshar, Hope you feel better soon.XXX I was watching Naked and Afraid last night on Discovery Channel. And the guy mentioned that he was getting the same feeling s doing the survival show as when he was in detox. |
Hi guys ;-) Leshar , take yourself off to bed , take a little extra paracetamol , a big glass of warm water , with the juice of 1 lemon and a teaspoon of garlic . I do this as soon as i feel one coming on , it's amazing , it either is gone the next morning i wake or only lasts a couple of days . Lotsa water , stay in bed for a day ( if you can ) rest , no housework ,read a book . :drillserg ...at ease ! |
Ma'am, yes ma'am! Ta, Sergeant Snoozy! Man, I feel really awful now. I will have to miss my class tomorrow. I have a rehearsal on Wednesday and that must take priority. Season 6 of Madmen is just now on Netflix, so I'll feast on this tomorrow. Paracetamol, parrots eat 'em all, that's why there's no aspirin in Australia! |
Hello. Sorry I've not been in touch last few weeks. All settled in my new house and finally have internet installed. Seems to take longer on new builds. Hope your all well, what have I missed?? X |
