Hey everybody,

I'm not sure that shipping a jar of vegemite 1/2 way around the world is necessary, Wendy. Maybe I can find some state side to try.

Thanks for the instructions, Croissant.
Sorry about your itchiness, Leshar. Hope that goes away for you.

I'm watching a Red Sox game. (Our baseball team)
They won the world series last year.

Leshar 04-02-2014 08:16 PM

Oh Croissant and my Aussie pals, sorry, but that Vegemite pic makes me want to toss my cookies! You guys like it??

Thanks, Bob. Just slathered some greasy goop on my scalp. Hey, maybe Vegemite would work. Looks just about as yucky as my goop!

NorCaliGal 04-02-2014 08:16 PM

Oh then I definitely used the vegemite incorrectly. I used it like I was making a peanut butter sandwich!

Bob if memory serves me right I think I found it all those years ago at Cost Plus. Do you have those in New England? They have a sizeable imported food section.

Or good ole Amazon.com. They have everything and it gets delivered right to your doorstep.

But what I'd really like is some Timbits (nudge nudge Leshar)!

Dee74 04-02-2014 08:43 PM

I like it about once a year when I get a vegemite craving LOL :)

D

SnoozyQ 04-02-2014 11:46 PM

Once a year Dee ! Wow ...we go thru a large jar every 2 weeks :-)

NCG :headbange. Spreading it like peanut paste or ( peanut butter ) as you guys call it :GrossL:

I've spent the day with my Mum and Dad clearing out my sisters shed and sending furniture up to Queensland now that she has left that loser of a boyfriend .

I'm stuffed , cos then i was on a mission to clear my clothes etc ...

Have 10 large bags for goodwill ,

Feels good to clear out the clutter and make way for new things ;-) xx

You Americans! No half measures! Hehe.xx

resolute50 04-03-2014 06:25 AM

Hey now Croissant,If Americans were 1/2 way people we wouldn't have a West coast. ;)

I'll have to check into this vegemite stuff. I heard it's good for you but taste like a gym sock.lol
Sounds like you had a busy day digging through old clothes,Wendy.
Too bad you didn't find any $$$.

Hope everybody is having a nice day/night.
It's finally spring here. No more frozen ground, lots of mud.

SnoozyQ 04-03-2014 06:30 AM

Don't worry Bob , it wasn't through lack of trying .i almost hot the jackpot though , i found 10 cents ...woot !

Lol if vegemite tasted like gym sock i would give it a wide berth .

I would have to say for newbies tho , that it's an acquired taste ;-)

I love mr snuffleupagus :-) xx

Hi friends,

Wanted to share some surprising, yet wonderful news with my Julyers. I took a home pregnancy test yesterday and it was positive! Not sure if you all know my background, but we tried for over a year to get pregnant again, after our daughter, only to lose the baby (another girl) at 13 weeks. We found out she had a fatal chromosome disorder - Trisomy 18 :( It was devastating and I started drinking again the day after we lost her (fall of 2012). I pretty much drank regularly until Apr of 2013 (when I stumbled upon SR). Anyway, after losing our last baby we decided to try one more time. Over a year later and no pregnancy. Well, in Jan of this year we said enough and stopped trying. So you can imagine how surprised we were yesterday when the test was positive. I am 42 and my husband will be 40 in a couple of weeks so we are very worried about another chromosome problem, but just have to hope for the best. Very excited, but also very scared. Good news is I have no desire to drink when I am pregnant so I am looking forward to, hopefully, a 9 month break from my AV. Bad news is I am very worried about what will happen if something goes wrong.

I will keep you all updated. We haven't even told family yet (don't want them to worry) so you all are one of the first to know :)

resolute50 04-03-2014 11:19 AM

That is wonderful news,Ladybug!!!
I'm so happy for you and your husband.:grouphug:

SnoozyQ 04-03-2014 12:35 PM

Ladybug WOW ;-)))) fantastic news sweetheart , I'm really happy for you .

Don't stress about what may go wrong , but be excited about everything that will go right .

My mum had a baby at 44 and my sister in law was 45 .

The thing is with consecutive pregnancies you are no more at risk of a miscarriage .

Women are having babies later in life .

How far along are you ?

This is great news ;) I'm thrilled for you both and wish you all the very best sweetheart :-) xxxx

Hugs :Val004:

Croissant 04-03-2014 01:33 PM

Hi Ladybug. This is wonderful news.xx

Please try not to worry. My grandmother had her first 2 children after 39, miscarried, then had her last baby at 45. Healthy.

Love to you and your little family.

Ladybug2 04-03-2014 01:36 PM

Thanks Bob and Snoozy!

Thanks for the words of encouragement, Snoozy. My grandmother had my mom at 41 or 42. I guess I am just worry because of what happened last time. I also lost a baby at 22 weeks, long time ago, so with the exception of my daughter, I haven't had the best of luck with pregnancies. I am only probably 4 or 5 weeks along so it is very early. Had bloodwork today to check my levels so I am waiting to hear back from the Dr. Will keep you all posted :)

Ladybug2 04-03-2014 01:39 PM

Thanks Croissant, our posts must have just crossed. You guys have made me feel much more hopeful :)

Leshar 04-03-2014 02:12 PM

Oh, Ladybug, that is such happy, wonderful news! I'm so excited for you and your husband!
Try not to worry too much and just enjoy this process!

I'm at 9 months today and feeling good about this. Just frustrated still about my sleep problem. I'm growing and learning about how much better this new sober lifestyle is. Perhaps I've got an extended case of PAWS, who knows, but I will carry on and enjoy being present and more sure of myself!

I asked my sister in England if I could visit later this summer, and she seemed a bit cool about the idea, not very enthusiastic to say the least. She's looking for work and is generally out of sorts. She mentions in her last few emails that she's worried about her drinking and wants "to cut back". She never asks me about my drinking, or not drinking, and I don't raise the issue.

Anyway, a couple of nights ago when I yet again couldn't sleep, I decided to take a risk, challenge myself, so I've booked a one week trip to Madrid in mid May. I was there as a 17 year old for a summer, and I've always wanted to go back, especially as my spanish is better now. And I want to just walk the city, go to the art galleries and museums.
I used airmiles for the flights, so that was a break, and I've rented a teeny studio apartment online. It's all I need!

I'm not going to second guess myself about this plan. It's a habit I want to leave behind. I'm going and I will be fine!

Dee74 04-03-2014 03:14 PM

Congratulations Ladybug!!! :)

D

Dee74 04-03-2014 03:14 PM

Congrats to you too Leshar on 9 months...kinda appropriate really :)

D

Ladybug2 04-03-2014 03:39 PM

Congrats on 9 months, Leshar! You have come so far and we are so proud of you :) A week on Madrid sounds wonderful, good for you! I went to Madrid and other parts of Spain for a senior high school trip, but was much too young to appreciate it. All we cared about was drinking age being 18 :( I think this will be a great adventure for you!!

Leshar 04-03-2014 06:26 PM

Thanks, Dee and Ladybug,

I'm feeling a bit flat tonight. Just tired, I guess. My girlfriend called me but just wanted to bitch about how she felt another friend broke a confidence. She just went round and round and got miffed when I pointed this out to her. I'm tired of tedious one sided friendships.
I'm tired of being alone most of the time and having to make every decision, big and small alone. I really don't think my family and friends know how hard it all is.
Ok, that's all folks.

Dee74 04-03-2014 06:29 PM

Hope you get some rest and feel a little better tomorrow Leshar :)

D

Leshar 04-03-2014 06:37 PM

Thanks, Dee. Tomorrow is another day!

Croissant 04-03-2014 07:47 PM

Wow, so much is happening!

So, I have some news, but saw Ladybugs and wanted to wait.

Leshar, I've been reading a book I found on the Passages rehab facility website;
"Be who you want, have what you want"
It's available on iPad. Funny, one of the exercises is to do something fun and I decided to plan a holiday too!

It's a good read. It's lifted me, and my news is...

I resigned from my job today!

Dee74 04-03-2014 08:21 PM

Best wishes for whatever comes next Crois :)

Croissant, thanks!

Tell us more about your work news. Do you have something else lined up? You sound happy in your decision. Didnt appear to be a nurturing environment for you of late.

And tell us about your holiday plans! Yes, I figured I'm not getting younger, and I can't rely on my family, so why not be my own best friend and take myself on a trip!
Go for it! After all you've been through lately, a holiday sounds like just the ticket!

Thank you for the book recommendation, I will check it out!

SnoozyQ 04-04-2014 04:23 AM

Good for you both Leshar and Croissant :-) xx
