Work that sounds beyond amazing! Can I come?!

Renarde 02-20-2014 08:07 AM

Brooksie congrats on being invited to speak. That's so wonderful!

Nuway2fly 02-20-2014 04:21 PM

Worko, your vacation sounds amazing! I've heard Thailand is very beautiful. Enjoy some well-deserved rest and relaxation.

LillianGish 02-20-2014 08:09 PM

I feel myself watching for the new thread, waiting for my one chance to be first. Circling SR like a great white shark. LOL!

Traveling home from a business trip. HALT....yes that's me. I'm craving a glass o' wine. Sigh. Nope.

Brooksie, I wish I could hear your speech. I bet it's the bomb. :)

Work, have fun in Thailand. Gosh that sounds like heaven actually.

Renarde 02-20-2014 08:15 PM

I know, we are slowing down a bit lately! So what are you going to do tonight instead of drinking Lil?

LillianGish 02-20-2014 08:35 PM

Well, I sitting here at LAX.....noticing I have over an hour before my connecting flight takes off for San Diego. Hmmm, I have the most recent Stephen King book here on my kindle...Aretha Franklin on my iPod.....RESPECT, find out what it means to me! People watching at the airport....Laughing with a coworker about our six hour meeting today in Fresno.....watching Anderson Cooper and thinking what a hunk he is even when talking about the horrors in the Ukraine.....lining up a work at home day tomorrow where I commit to not changng outta my pajamas.....telling my kids goodnight via text...admiring Anderson Cooper again and thinking what a loss for women that he is gay but I'm very happy for him...

How's that for images from a smelly old airport?! Drinking at least killed some time. I'm ok though - not even close.

How are you?? Feeling better I hope!!!!

Kaneda8888 02-20-2014 08:54 PM

Hey Lillian

How is LAX these days ? I must confess it isn't my favourite airport. When I was working for a Chicago based company, I once landed in LAX for a 7 hour layover to O'Hare. Watching paint dry became an attractive option after that experience. Maybe I should have driven from LA to Chicago, I dont think its that far ?

Anyway, it might be a good time to try out some meditation ;)

LillianGish 02-20-2014 09:11 PM

Lax isn't my favorite airport either....it seems to be under construction in various stages all the time....for years! No cool shops, no good food, no redeeming qualities whatsoever other than it does eventually get me out of Los Angeles.

Chicago might be a three day drive from here, but what a pretty drive it would be! Probably not as pretty as Australia.

I keep hearing the transendental (sp?) meditation is wonderful. Have you ever tried that Kane?

Br00ksie 02-20-2014 09:22 PM

Just got home from work. I already despise people who work out late and then dawdle in the locker room after the gym has closed. I think I offended a customer who caused me to stay 20 min late by asking him (politely maybe with a hint of curtness) to respect the hours of the gym and my time. :pout

I normally wouldn't care except for the fact that I'm opening tomorrow (picked up someone's shift) which means I have to be at werk at 4:45 AM and I know I have a long day after that. But regardless, I need to work at this customer service thing. Im not very good at hiding my moods, particularly if I'm annoyed! :ugh:

*********
I must say, I was never a big airport drinker, but that was probably because pain pills/muscle relaxers/benzos were my layover time-killer of choice!! :dee

Ok I'm taking my butt to sleep now. Let's cross our fingers for 3.5 hours!!! Goodnight everyone! :grouphug:

Br00ksie 02-20-2014 09:47 PM

last day of holidays here and my dsughter goes back to sea tonight . We had a great week and im so sad to see her go. But im not going to drink

Renarde 02-21-2014 02:16 AM

Congrats Brooksie!

Lil, hope you got out of LAX ok!

It's 3 am and the baby fell out of bed. Oh dear. Very bad because she has a horrible cough, so now it's nonstop coughing in there.

I can't help but feel glad that I'm sober. Being awakened when recovering from too much to drink is horrible. Thanks to all for talking through my recent cravings with me. :)

PeanutButterCup 02-21-2014 02:55 AM

Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy, Brooksie! Woo-hoooooooooooo!!! So is your talk today then?

Renarde, it's great that you can be there for her completely. :)

Officially, today is my day off. But I just finished my "to do" list, and it's comically large. I hope the roads aren't too bad out there! We got a lot of rain yesterday and during the night, which they'd predicted would freeze. School is still on, and that's a good sign.

I'm off to start checking off items. Hugs all around!

FishnHippy 02-21-2014 03:01 AM

Way to rock it Brooksie...
