Hey TP! Good job! It is interesting how we all have our own triggers, but in sobriety we are learning to recognize them and do our damndest to make sure they don't take us over. I was at a Casino today with Mom. She likes to plink the coins in and hear the machines go nuts. Me...I would normally nab a beer and people watch. But, today, that was not an option. A cup of coffee and what the heck....might as well toss a few coins in, too. Lost my $7.50 and called it good. Would rather put the money towards another piece of chrome for my motorcycle or something. Any way, it's taking those triggers, giving it a nice squeeze and blasting the heck out of that AV. Just glad you are getting through the night.

Streamwader - thanks for thinking of us, and in Manistee of all places. One of my favorite places. From there North along wine country to Traverse and the Leelenau are some of the nicest places for motorcycle riding in the state. Not to mention all the great canoeing that can be done. Don't know if you ever noticed the town of Buelah along that way. Bonkers....I use that term all the time. See, you're not the geek you thought you were. Or I, too, am a geek.

Can anyone refresh my brain on how to put a picture on the thread. I'd really like to put a couple on here, but for the life of me still can't get it to work.

Hugs to every one!:grouphug:

Unless the recent upgrades have affected it, you can add an attachment - you need to use the full reply option tho, not quick reply...scroll down and click the 'manage attachment' button.

There are size limits that way tho....

the other way is to upload to somewhere like ImageShack/PhotoBucket etc and then upload to SR

Woo-hoo! 14 days. I am loving the separation from that crap!

**Sap alert**
I just want to commend all of you for the thoughtful things you come up with. I have lately been reading through some quality stuff on this thread, and I just want you to know how great I think all of you are.

Buelah--> I will pray for your step-daughter and her baby. I will pray hard.

BBird--> You need to do what makes you happy and protect yourself girl. I have seen relationships overcome infidelity a couple of times, and it really seems to make the partnership stronger, IF both people are truly committed to learn from their mistakes. I hope things work out in our favor.

TP--> I am glad you are good. It always feels great when you throw that "primo drinking time" idea against the wall as hard as you can. I hope you enjoy your evening.

I am on a huge diet Pepsi kick right now. I think it is (cue Randy Quaid voice in) Gooooooooo-oooooood!

Last night my wife and I decided that when I get to the thirty day mark, we get to go out for a seafood batch... Sea-bugs, here I come!

:e025:

Thanks for reading!

I'm seeing if I can get this to work. If it works, you'll see Ruby, our 8-year old chocolate lab. I don't have all my pics on my laptop. On my desktop at home. But, figured I'd give this a shot while on my trip with Mom.

It worked Dee, thank you!

TP
I too used to enjoy it when my wife went out. Guilt free drinking. No longer any pretence for the remnants of social niceties.

This sober life has so much to recommend it. The parts that are the most amazing are the most subtle and most difficult to pin down. Increasingly for me it is a way of being and engaging that has a genuine quality that has been missing for so long.

The adventure continues. Peace to all.

You guys are a great group, my best to all of you.

Good morning all!

Thanks for the encouragement last night. I made it through the evening unscathed.

Wife's alarm went off at 5 am and I was fumbling about trying to turn it off I had a flashback to other such morning afters where I'd be hurting from the previous night's recreation. It was a good reminder.

Yawn...better get moving. Have to get the boys up and organized for camp.

Thanks again Bratnik, Squishy, Buelah, Papanico, Dee. This was the first time that I've really needed support and you guys were there for me. :ring

Good morning everybody, and happy sobriety. In a few hours I will hit day 70. Ten weeks. Another zero day. However, no melancholy over it. Whereas in the initial weeks each day was registering, now I am going several days in between even noticing the streak.

Perhaps streak is a bad word, since it implies ending ("all streaks come to an end"). I certainly am trying to move away from "days since..." and convert to a new standard of living.

Going on a hike with the kids this morning and have an afternoon of finishing my novel planned.

All my best.

Instant:

I enjoyed your comment about sobriety bringing an improved quality of being and engagement. I feel the same and go back to another forum where someone commented that every day that we choose not to drink we improve the universe with our positive impact on the people we relate to.

Hi guys and gals! Leo here dropping by to say howdy and say I'm still around. I'm loving the distance between me and my vices; drifting apart has never felt so good!! :)

Working on day #82 smoke and booze free, feeling stronger than before, and using daily techniques if thoughts enter my mind (which is rare). I remember to play it through, reminding myself that picking up will not solve anything or add anything of value to my life. I remember and use HALT prn. And, I always keep in mind People, Places, and Things. You all are doing great and give me inspiration!! Here's to another day of healthy sobriety!

Buelah - love the Lab pic - she's a very nice looking girl! Angus would lot love her too!

Lovingit - thanks! We are a pretty good group! You're welcome to join us whenever you like.

Thank you, but I think there are a lot of heroes around here.

Good morning everyone! Its wednesday and I have a session with my hubby tonight. Not sure if it really helps anymore at this point. I've realized that we really aren't meant for each other but we stay together at this point out of need and finances. I don't think he sees it that way, but it will come to a head sooner or later.

TP - I knew you could do it! BAH to that AV in your head!

Buelah - Beautiful loveable doggy - what a sweetie. Between you and stream talking about the north I miss it so much up there in the summer and fall. You will have to keep me updated on the colors this year. Oh what I would do for a Gurney's sandwich in Harbor!!!!!

Classical - yeah for you. Quiet the voices in the head. I can't wait. I too had trouble sleeping and weird dreams. Its been a rollercoaster, but getting easier every day. I have new goals and you all are great support. :-)

Papa - its another hot day here in CO. Get the lemonade and iced tea ready! Hope you don't have to be outside. And I will take those sap alerts any time! I pride myself on how fast I can get sappy these days.

Leo & 4tk - you are a superstars - good to see you are still here and going strong.

Brat - I saw that you PM but when I went in it was gone and I fell asleep!!! I hope you are well today and feeling good this week.

BBird - stay strong! I know you are going through alot right now. I hope you are doing well.

To everyone across both ponds - Good night to you all! We will see you on the flip side. :-)

Happy Wednesday everyone - sorry if I missed anyone this morning, I am rushing on to the work and school load. I will check in later. Have a great soberific day!:c011:
