This is for my Ontario buddy. Have you seen this before Fub?

Fubarcdn 09-30-2009 06:03 AM

I have not seen that sign before JS. It must be in some redneck town with a Brit background because nobody in the big cities call smokes fags.
I support non smoking laws 100% by the way. If people need to smoke fine but there is no reason that others should be subjected to it.
As far as the other issue I am neutral on it and all of the legal issues with health care coverage, pension payments, and anything else that goes with it. It probably brings some fairness into the system but is open to explotation.
What was that movie where two guys faked a marriage so one could get insurance coverage for his kids. I think Vince Vaughan and that guy from King of Queens was in it.

"I now pronounce you Chuck and Larry"
Starring Adam Sandler and Kevin James

Two straight, single Brooklyn firefighters pretend to be a gay couple in order to receive domestic partner benefits

That is the movie. Thanks Mike. I have a bad memory when it comes to movies and who was in them. Maybe for my next challenge I should have the 4 week movie memory challenge. :)
Sandy Ut does take time and effort to get fit and then you have to keep at ir to stay there but when you get there it does wonders for your confidence and self image so it is well worth out.
Start out at a pace you are comfortable with then push yourself a bit more each time. After a while you will find that the fitness activity of your choice is one of the highlights of the day. Either that or my life is so boring that going to the gym seems exciting. :)
Two outlooks. Positive versus negative. Probably somewhere in between is reality but for the next two weeks I will go with the positive.

Having said that it is off to the gym.

Hope the class is enjoying the weekend. Unfortunately, I have to work...or I could end up like these poor fellowshttp://img27.imageshack.us/img27/658...downloaddk.jpg

Fubarcdn 10-03-2009 06:19 AM

Good morning all.
I have just been routinely following the old routine. I like things to be the same all the time being the non adventurous person that I am. I gotta start doing better at moderating the sweets again as I have been on a bit of a sugar run since I finished the fitness challenge.
If I don't watch it I will need another 16 week fitness challenge with NO NADA sweets and that would not be good. Moderation is the key to maintaining an equilibrium.
Having said that the missus is making fudge for me today so moderation will start tomorrow. :)

Fubarcdn 10-04-2009 05:29 AM

I am not very good at moderation either and that is the reason that I have not seriously tried it with the drinking. In that area for now it is still either all or nothing .
The sweets thing is giving me a little insight as to what may happen if I gig try moderation with drinking and so far it is not good.
I will keep trying moderating my sweets but if that is not working I will probably give up sugars too. That thought is a good incentive to make it work. Right after I finish the ice cream and fudge that I already have. :)

If you did not have the desire to join the party then you are well on your way Sandy.
That is what I am hoping to feel when I go on my all inclusive holiday in a couple of weeks.
I think not feeling like you are missing out on all the fun is a huge step to putting alcohol in the same perspective as most normal social drinkers do.

jsml1234 10-06-2009 03:19 PM

Hurry back Sandy... it's been great to read your posts, you seem to be on the right track. I'm happy for you.
http://img2.imageshack.us/img2/7236/...downloadqb.jpgContinue the strong work.

Good morning class.
I was watching Dr. Oz and he said that the worst thing to do is have a big bowl of ice cream for dessert because it transforms all of your dinner to fat instead of allowing the protein to be used to revitalize muscle tissue. I love ice cream.
This reminded me of my father when he was 75 and the doctor told him to quit drinking and smoking.
I asked him what he was going to do and he replied that there was only one thing to do and that was to get a new doctor.
So Dr. Oz is out and Oprah is in for that time slot. By the looks of Oprah I am sure she has nothing against ice cream. :)

jsml1234 10-09-2009 07:36 AM

LOL Fub,
the acorn (nut) doesn't fall far from the tree. :)

This poor little class has continued it's steady decline of posts/classmates. I guess it's just the natural progression... kinda makes me sad.

Hi all of you,

I am not around any more but just wanted to check back in to let you know that I did finally find my sobriety path and feel really good about it. All of you have been so supportive this past year and I did not want to fall through the cracks into oblivion without saying THANK YOU!
Way to go to all of you - for making it and for trying to make it!
Bye for now and Thank you!
